Applies to all staff roles. Use common sense. When in doubt, ask.
Staff Standard
Priority Reminder
Staff time is for keeping LC stable - reports, approval queue, security, uptime, enforcement, and user support.
If something pulls you away from that, it is not a staff task.
Lurker Thread(s) Policy
Avoid the Lurker thread(s) unless you are personally pinged or you are handling a specific moderation issue.
These threads are a distraction and cause staff to shift from actively working to messing around too much.
If you need to respond, keep it brief and return to duties.
Rules
Represent LC correctly. Staff behavior sets the tone - keep it professional even in casual spaces.
Do staff tasks first. Reports, approvals, and urgent issues come before chatting.
No power-tripping. Moderate content, not egos.
Use the least force needed. Warn, then escalate only if required.
Be consistent. Apply rules the same way across ranks, friends, and popular users.
Keep staff coordination private. Do not argue policy in public threads.
Log major actions. Notes for bans, serious warnings, and major deletions.
No leaking internal info. Staff discussions, tickets, backend details, and private info stay private.
Handle reports promptly. If you cannot, ping another staff member who can.
No staff drama. If staff disagree, resolve it privately and move on.
Lurker thread(s). Avoid unless personally pinged or moderating a specific issue.
Do not feed trolls. Remove bait, warn if needed, keep it quiet.
Keep staff replies short and calm. De-escalate, do not entertain conflict.
No public callouts. Do not shame users publicly - use warnings and private messages.
Avoid backseat modding. If another staff member is handling it, do not override unless urgent.
Age-gating is strict. Anything suggesting underage content is immediate action and escalation.
Be transparent when appropriate. If you edit, move, or remove, leave a brief reason when possible.
Do not moderate while angry. Step away, ping another staff member, return later.
Never use staff tools to win arguments.
Stay out of personal beef. If you are involved, you are not the moderator for that situation.
Keep DMs private. Do not quote private messages publicly - escalate internally if needed.
Respect privacy. No sharing IPs, emails, payment info, locations, or identifiers.
Follow evidence. Moderate based on logs and rules, not rumors.
Use neutral language. "Rule violation" beats insults.
Keep approvals moving. If something is borderline, ask instead of stalling.
Do not promise outcomes. You can say "we will review" but do not guarantee unbans or rank changes.
Do not invent policy mid-thread. Suggest changes internally, do not make new rules on the fly.
Security mindset. Strong passwords, 2FA, and do not click sketchy links on staff accounts.
Zero tolerance for abuse of access. Snooping, leaks, favoritism, or personal gain with staff powers leads to removal.
Stay active or communicate. If unavailable long-term, set Away status and tell the team.
Owner or Admin final call. If you disagree, raise it privately, then respect the decision.
Enforcement
These rules exist to keep LC stable and reduce staff burnout. Repeated disregard can result in staff warnings, reduced permissions, or removal from the team.
