discussion Do you really enjoy female protag games?

What's the big deal? Or is a woman not a person? In one of my favorite games, Bright Past, the MC is a woman. This did not in the least affect the pleasure I got from the gameplay.
What I never play for is transgender people. It's just a psychological block that I can't get over.

Yeah they can be nice. I see it as if I was reading a book, so I look out more for how the story/plot is written than what gender the character I'm playing is.

I like exhibitionism and corruption, both kinda need female main characters unless you are into men

Really depends on how much freedom I have with the characters and the genre. For example, I really like the Her Desire by Wack Daddy. You can ignore any character or not, your choice. I ignore the husband as I hate his character design and the son's best friend, but let her have her way with all the other characters. I also prefer that this one go after characters instead of the normal son changing mother, it's mother "helping" her kids, etc. Another is good girl gone bad, a lot of choices, not just who you date, but looks, tattoos, etc.

Personally, I love when games offer a female protagonist option. FemShep, for example. Same with porn games.

Honestly, I haven't seen many Western ones that appeal to me. So far, I've mostly played Japanese RPGM games in that genre. It feels like Japanese devs just know the how, the when, and the why when it comes to putting a female protag in particular settings.

Ive never been able to "self insert" into games, so the whole play male games because you are male never really made sense to me. Early in my WoW days (hey... we all have a dark past, dont judge me), I often played female characters. I didn't understand why until I was made to think about it. And the answer I came up with was said by someone else in a much better way. "If Im going to be staring at someones ass for 16 hours a day, It better be a girls ass". That pretty much summed it up.

As for porn games... I don't really like most of the FeMC games. I do like the ones where you can drive a girl into total depravity. It's the type of stuff you wouldnt want your gf/wife to do, so having a male MC do it to his LI just always feels wrong, and I end up not choosing those options. Like the scene with the chubby girl in the nurses office in Ecchi Sensei. If you know, you know. I told myself I would play that scene like 8 times before I finally did. I just felt like an asshole choosing it, so I never did. Until I did. But its kinda the same with male MC. If he is corrupting someone he doesnt like then sure. But most of them are his gf/fiance/wife. Not gonna send the gf/wife to a gangbang, thats gross. So FeMC games let you send the girl (MC) down the tunnel to depravity without it jumping into that mental illness zone.
