New Funding Board Now Live on LewdCorner

Help fund specific games and newer updates the community wants posted.

LewdCorner now has a Funding Board.

This was added to give the community a more direct way to help fund specific games, specific updates, and specific releases people want to see posted on the site.

Instead of only donating toward general site costs, members can now also put money toward an individual funding goal tied to a game or update they actually want.

Funding Board URL

Funding Board: https://lewdcorner.com/donate-dashboard/funding/funding.php

What the Funding Board is

The Funding Board is a section where a funding post can be made for a specific game, update, release, or other content goal.

Each funding post can include things like:

  • The game title
  • The developer name
  • The version
  • A buy link
  • The amount needed
  • Its own progress bar and total raised

So instead of everything being vague, each goal is its own post with its own target.

How it works

If there is a game or update people want posted on LewdCorner, a funding goal can be made for it.

From there:

  1. A funding post gets created for that specific game or update
  2. Members can open that goal and see exactly what it is for
  3. If they want to help, they can donate toward that specific goal
  4. The donation gets tied to that funding post
  5. The progress for that goal updates as money comes in

So if somebody wants a certain game or a newer update posted, they are no longer stuck waiting around hoping it just happens.

A funding goal can be made for it, and anyone else who also wants it can chip in.

Simple example

Let us say a new update comes out for a game people want posted.

Maybe one person only has $1 and cannot fund the whole thing alone.

Instead of that going nowhere, they can create or support a funding goal for that update.

Then other members who also want that update can throw in whatever they want as well.

Once the goal gets covered, it helps secure that game or update for LewdCorner.

That is the whole point of this system.

Why this was added

This was added because it gives the community a clearer and more direct way to push for content they actually want.

It helps with:

  • Funding specific games
  • Funding specific updates
  • Showing visible interest from the community
  • Making it clear what donations are going toward
  • Giving members a way to help push wanted content forward

If a funding goal gets attention quickly, that makes it obvious there is real interest behind it.

Important note

This does not replace normal donations that help keep LewdCorner running.

General donations still matter for monthly costs, upkeep, maintenance, server expenses, and the site as a whole.

The Funding Board is just a more targeted option for members who want to help fund something specific.

What this means for members

  • You can now help fund specific games or updates directly
  • You can see progress on individual goals
  • You can support content you actually want posted
  • You can help newer updates get secured faster when enough people want them

If there is a game or update you want posted on LewdCorner, check out the new Funding Board.

This gives the community a more direct way to help make wanted content happen.

Not sure about the difficulty but you might want to have a second funding board for games+, makes it a little more difficult for those that have nothing better to do than harass devs and platforms that might be in a target genre.

will add a second directory when i can, gotta do IRL stuff now tho.

Don't worry, guys, I already told him to slap a tax on it so it won't be so cheap and we can get a cut of the money.
We'll call it the “horny tax.”

anyone and no you can just make the post without funding it.

I may have missed the change, but there was a time that updates only were posted when they had already leaked elsewhere especially for the + section. With this change is that rule going away? Or did that get changed a while back that I missed?

So how does this work?
Users pay LewdCorner to buy the games from Patreon or whatever source or what?
What about games that can't be bought or free games and people unknowingly make paid requests for that? Where does that money go?

What about the usual requests in the proper section? Will they get stalled for the paid ones? As in only take the ones in the "Funding board" serious?

LC had a 2 week grace period after a release or update before it gets updated here unless it got leaked elsewhere already.

So this is kinda like a replacement for those now-mostly-pointless platforms like Patreon and SS? If so I wish this launched when LC did years ago.

Good questions.

The Funding Board is mainly for games or updates that are not leaked anywhere else, or have no newer leaked update available elsewhere.

So the point of it is not just “pay for any random request.” It is mainly there for cases where a game or update is actually locked behind a paywall, not publicly available, or there is no updated leak floating around already.

If something turns out to already be free, already leaked elsewhere, or does not actually need funding, then it would not make sense to keep it up as a paid funding goal. In that kind of case, it would just be denied, removed, or closed instead of being treated like something that still needs money behind it.

Normal requests in the proper sections still matter too. Those are not being replaced, stalled, or ignored because of this. The Funding Board is just an extra option for cases where the content people want is not available elsewhere and money is the actual barrier to getting it.

So no, this is not about only taking paid requests seriously. It is more for situations where people want to help secure a game or newer update that is not leaked anywhere else already.

as for the 2 week thing, this was not really a hard requirement and i am going to be speaking to other admins to abolish this requirement.

no this is nothing like that lol, basically its a pool to buy a game.

That is a whole different can of worms.
After the censorship debacle with steam last year, many tried this. They got ton of support, not only from people willing to fund these projects, they also had actual lawyers look into it. But none of it got even close to anywhere, because it is not as easy and legally doable as many think it is. For example services like Patreon or SS had millions of dollars as starting funds and you have to register it as a proper business with all the legal and financial responsibilities. Not to mentions that the big payment processors will just block you, because you deal with stuff they don't like (incest, smols).
And you can't do that "under the hand" either, because that will be tax evasion for all involved devs and the service provider and we all know how horny authorities get when it comes to busting tax evasion.

But enough of derailing this thread, it's not about that after all. 😅

But still, how does it work?
You make a request and then what? People donate money for that goal specifically, as in putting the request-ID into their donation?

And the already donated money for that goal goes into the general donation pool if denied/aborted?

ill make a example goal just to show you what it is lol, and (where does the donation go if the pool is denied/aborted, it goes into the pool of funding not server.) i have the donation stuff setup that splits 2 roads, (server and games).

Could this or a similar system be used as a "tip jar/buy me a coffee"? For those who contribute content of our own. Daz assets are not cheap 🙃 (I don't mind being *taxed* for it either lol)

Edit: NVM, just realized this would involve actual taxes. So maybe just a coin donation system.

Could just start one's own bank. While Musk is probably best positioned for that it "only" takes like about $30M in capital, not billions. The annoying part is the paperwork and red tape, which takes about 2-3 years to cut through. But once you have your own bank you can pretty much do whatever the fuck you want within the limits of the law, including funding any sort art without censorship and even start your own payment system if you can link to other banks. If not I imagine plenty of artists and devs would just open an account with that bank that just manages their own card (it's why Visa and MC are not the only cards in existence). I imagine Steam will be doing this soon enough, as they possibly might have already started the process of doing exactly that considering they make $4B year so to them $30M is pocket change, they just have to take it up the ass for 2-3 years in the meantime until the paperwork goes through. As far as tax evasion, I'd laugh my ass off if everyone at once decided to say "fuck the gov't and their taxes" and just stopped withholding anything and just stopped paying them all at once. Prison wouldn't be an issue, because soon enough there'd be no money to pay for that, particularly if sales taxes stopped being withheld/paid as well (or anything else for that matter, including blowing up countries we have no legit reason to blow up). And if tax liens and the like predictably started getting used then go scorched earth: burn it so no one gets it if the gov't tries to steal it.

It helps with:

  • Funding specific updates
  • Showing visible interest from the community
  • Making it clear what donations are going toward

Important note

This does not replace normal donations that help keep LewdCorner running.

General donations still matter for monthly costs, upkeep, maintenance, server expenses, and the site as a whole.

Basically a Lewd version of Substar Patreon Itch but hopefully better? Hope this works.

No, nothing of that kind. It's to gather money to buy unleaked games/updates from Patreon and Co.
