I dont like FPS games in general, but recently friends dragged me in Delta Force, well I Suck Big, but it is fun.
And Fantasy is a majority of gaming industry, you heavily cripple your choice of games.

Ya fps games can definitely take skill and muscle memory. But they are funner with friends. Just stay behind them and use them as bait lol

It took me a long time to learn to love FF13. At the time it came out, the linearity was a huge problem for me, but these days with how open and padded games can be, it was a breath of fresh air. Plus the cast is excellent.

I've also always loved the linearity, especially with like you said modern JRPGs being massive fields where you have to painstakingly walk back and forth across the whole map 10 times to complete each quest :3 And the cast is amazing, one of my fave casts of any game for sure! (even Hope grew on me by the end, a little at least)

FC4 is practically the same as FC3, Primal is FC4 with a skin and animals... FC5... it's okay, I guess. FC6 is something totally separate from what Far Cry is.

Far cry 6 was plain ass. Garbage story. Too repetitive with too much pointless shit to do. Far cry 5 was just all about a cult in the country. Kinda reminded me of Charlie mansonish vibes.

I will admit the part of FFXIII where the game opens up alot does turn into this :3 But the combat in FFXIII is so good I don't think it ever got tedious

No, not that, the missions that make you go back and forth between two points all the time.

Don't know about FF13, never played it. But better have a good linear (story driven or not) game than a bad open world. still, if you like exploration like me, open world don't realy withdraw anything.

from what I understand they moved data from old to new in the background, so they can switch seamlessly

Linear is not bad by nature, just look at the Ubislop we have now and see the consequences of no good game design and focus

One thing I really miss is that FFXIII was one of the last games to use pre-rendered animated cutscenes, now everything is on-engine and more high resolution but lacks "Soul", just look at this and tell me if it doesn't hold up to this day

Yeah... What I mean is that until the change happens, the store and the bank won't be coming back, and I don't think the medals will either (although the new ones are beautiful), so we just have to be patient.
