video games, the last video game i paid for was DII w/ the Xpack way back in 1999
every other has been a bootleg (not that I'm a gaming fanatic)

Final Fantasy X has a wide skill tree system that lets you branch out (even if few of the enemies are really tough enough to require/reward you for strategising too much) and my fave is FFXIII (which is extremely on-rails for the first ~25-30 hours so if thats a deal breaker than probs wont win you over :3) which is imo the hardest mainline FF game and really lets you branch out your characters and get pretty in-depth
Dragon Quest feels like it stuck to the base 80s/90s JRPG formula in comparison and none of the ones I've played get too crazy with the gameplay, altho I do love DQ3 and DQ9 alot for their worlds
I havent played much Fire Emblem (I do need to tho :3) but I love Earthbound! Haven't played Mother 1/3 tho and it's been a while since I played Earthbound, defi need to give it another go <3 (one of my faves for sure)
On the topic of strategy-JRPGs I also loved playing Disgaea 1/2 even if they get a bit over the top with their grindiness :3

Oh I also talk about it too much but the combat in Persona 5 Royal is one of the most perfected turn-based combat systems, and even tho the game is very easy it feels constantly really satisfying :3 (but is a glorified VN for the most part)

Recently, Clair Obscur Exp33 was mind blowing ! It was since FFXIII that I haven't had this much fun !

My favorite sill is IX.
For I play from the first FF, it really was the next-gen animations for the old ones. It was so wonderful that I do not think that any FF could beat that someday.

For a lot of people, their pref is FFVII for the exact same reason : it was their first FF.
The first FF in next gen gaming console (PS1), and it was a revolution.
My favorite RPG was Wild Arms in these times but not with cinematics or 3D.
FFVII and FFVIII were very excellent and i've definitely loved them but the IX was about taking my fantasy childhood and making it alive. So blissful !

Such a masterpiece! The music, the cinematic, exploration, combat! EVERYTHING!!
It's so refreshing to see that a small team can produce such an amazing game, it gives back hope in the gaming industry, fuck AAA.
I almost felt that like a thief when I bought the game, because it definitely worth way much more than 40€.

biggest news i have received all week is from this thread and its..... that crusader kings 3 has NSFW mods..... and they are supposedly good 
that sounds like a good idea for a thread, is there a "nsfw mods for sfw games" thread? for anyone less lazy than my self, there is your brand new thread idea 
i see we have gone into full nerd-territory and have discussed many games and comics with a dash of pornography added in...... as it should always be
i recall the sims 4 having a very good nsfw mod....... wicked whims i think was the name if my five-second accurate memory is correct. the game with all the downloadable content will cost you as much as a stick of RAM these days though, so might be best to take this route instead:
i have also witnessed a not safe for work mod for star dew valley of all games floating around also!
an astonishing many good games have come out of small teams..... and single developers. the developers that are single in both senses of the word tend to make great porn games too
it is easy to think video gaming is in a bad state until you see what all these small developers are doing with their time i would feel bad about not creating something so brilliant myself if i wasnt distracted playing all their games

AAA is struggling hard now, because they made by "effective managers" with money and profit in the first place. And when I see projects like Exp 33, Megabonk, Skillsong, BluePrince have so much success I belive that gaming industry have future. hope is still alive.

Reacting to the content you like in the thread(s) for the shared daily themes is also a way of participating and winning bonus coins.i should participate, i have been looking at the themes but i always catch them late, the last one i saw was star trek....... something i know next to nothing about so i opted to skip thati will be keeping an eye on the thread just in case i get a blast of inspiration
