A new cleanup update has been posted covering the recent Vault rework, rank changes, policy cleanup, and theme polish.
The goal is to make LC cleaner, easier to understand, and safer for the site going forward.

I'm working on a new update for this game version. There are two goals for this next update.
1. Kill bugs
2. Redo some of the sex animations and renders.
I'll be skipping over a 1.01 version and work towards a big update for the version 1.05
As you can see the difference for these old renders that should have gotten rework for this director's cut version.
No ETA so far on when it will release, for the last time my projects are free and non-profit. It gets released when it gets released.

For anyone wondering why the last release shared here is 1.00 and not the others after that is because those versions were never released publicly. I've skipped releasing them so that I can focus on building towards a big update instead of several smaller ones. It took a while to upload this on a VPN since the game is a bit big in file size. In the documents that are supplied with the game builds, I explain some of the development decisions that I have made.
A lot of renders were just carried over from the old version of the game without being remade. I would still like to continue doing a few more with the new style and quality you see now with this director's cut version.

I've been struggling with motivation to do these free and open-source game projects. So I end up switching between the other projects that were created after updates. I've been fond of this game, so it did hurt to leave it the way I did over a year ago.

If you look at the Tribal Girls/Lost Girls sex animations, the old animations were in lossy quality and you can see the nipple piercings not stay with the nipple. It was weird and jarring for the old animations to turn out that way.
There are improvements to the game that can be made. Plenty of renders still should be remade, at the very least most of the old sex animations and renders for sex options.

This game was pretty fun, but it kind of turns into a point n click spam when you get in a rhythm, finished most endings without even spending time with any of the girls. Can't get the bratty witch ending though not sure what i'm missing.
Overall, I was hoping for more gameplay after that first cave had so many death-traps that I thought would lead to more stuff later but for what it was the exploration mechanic was pretty well done, the story was pretty wacky but I like how it wrapped itself up for each ending basically every situation had a "holy shit lol" moment in some way.
For the Bratty Witch Ending, you need to get the "Black Amethyst Crystal" that is further into the ruins of ruins 2. You search that section in the first image on the left for the crystal. After getting the crystal return to the stargate, then use option "Use the Stargate?". You should get the message in the far right image of "That dark crystal I found, it looks like it's reacting to the stargate."

I wonder if part of that is referring to the combat training with Canna, and then the battles with the tribal girls. I've been working on another update to improve those 2 areas. The director's cut was supposed to improve some stuff apart from just retouching or remaking renders. Some of the render quality is not consistent with the whole game still. I'm still trying to work on some stuff to improve the game.
Next update could be a month from now.

The progression of changes is documented better and is available for others to see. Just don't use these scripts in your game, I've made changes elsewhere such as replacing old assets that will break the game if you use those scripts.
If it makes sense to any of you, I'm doing it this way for version control on the game project. The changelog attached is just a preview.

I'm still working on version 1.17, I'll head to bed shortly and try to work on it some more tomorrow. The planned version release will not be 1.17, it might just be 1.20 instead.

IE. The scene that introduces you to the threat of the Tribal Girls coming to the island.

The Canna fight training was a little spammy but not in the way I meant as you have to actually do stuff to complete it properly so I didn't spam click with her so much, I also didn't even try to battle the tribal girls yet there's already so much to do I keep forgetting lol. I meant when I needed ore I would spam mining and hold ctrl to speed through it (I think thats what started my spammy point click rhythm). Also farming, or training hunting/fishing etc, or hunting or fishing in general lol, basically any interaction that I had to do repeatedly to get the next event with a girl or to unlock an item.
To be fair though, the stuff that I didn't spam click through (I should point out I have Adhd/OCD so spam click is common with me) was really good, this is one of maybe three games where I actually sat and read the dialogue lol, it was well written lore mixed in with a well written mystery and tied it up pretty nicely with a decent open-ended ending (im sticking with I ran as my canon ending lol). And honestly the new renders are gorgeous so it'll be worth it, some of the scenes had almost realistic looking skin and fabric. Also the music is good I turn the game on the listen to the music while I work so thanks for that little bonus lol.
Also a note I would make if you're thinking updates, I would explain the food/drink system a bit more for those, like me, with half a brain cell. I died probably 30 times before I learned I had to actually eat and drink at home to increase the numbers, not just have it in my inventory to cook later. And also (maybe I bugged mine) when I try to gather clay, the scene switches to the material gather girls gather scene and only her items are obtained instead of clay, never once gained any clay from gathering with village girl 2.

Oh ok. The mining is actually going to be the spammy one given how important it is for trading and getting equipment. Although, palm tree wood is also used for trade, I might need to balance the importance of wood so that it does not feel like a waste.

Funny thing is that at one point all the gathering from plants to materials was under just one "gathering" stat. I ended up splitting it to make it more unique and balanced.
As for the clay, I don't remember much, but it seems that it is only done from that one village girl's hub. It sounds like I'll need to improve that and make it not confusing.

That ending of "I Ran (Not So Far Away)" [Also Reference to A Flock Of Segulls song], is what I considered realistic for an ancient times man dealing with some force that he does not understand, which leads to fear.
Most of the games content is inspired by Forbidden History and
Ancient Aliens. Reading the "The Lost Book of Enki" are also an influence on this game.
. The game would have turned out with different lore and references If I had done it now after learning and hearing some new things about that stuff.

When I started out, I was still learning Koikatsu Sunshine and the CharaStudio software that came with the modded version of that game/software. So I started off with default settings and ended up playing around a bit with different shader types that ended up giving the renders a different look. It took almost over 3 years of using it before I found a sweet spot that I liked, the only con is that I have to adjust the lighting angles according to it or else it looks flat.
It might be me, but I did not like the early renders I did with my first few game projects. They ended up looking flat and pale compared to my newer stuff. It may have it's own cartoony charm but for me I ended up not liking it anymore. Some of the projects have different shaders used which may be distracting to others since it gives off a different look to some parts of the game, at least now I have a more consistent style for these renders that I also like for the most part.
This one is not bad, this was when I started using the "Deep Shade " shader type, before switching over to "Perfectly Smooth 1". Left is old version, right is new version

I still have more of the old sex renders and animations that should be reworked such as Hibiscus's Blowjob 1. I'm gonna have to get around to the tribal girl ones too because the nipple piercing issue for the animation loops are bad enough to warrant remaking them.

I actually make the efforts for good game music. It's not just there to be filler. This is a common theme for my games where music is of importance, especially my 2 music themed games. Some of the music I use for projects is stuff that I like and enjoy, so it's sometimes the song is there because of my personal preference over a player's preference.
For this game, I went a different route and used mostly Creative Commons licensed stuff that sounded nice or was a theme fit for the game. If you like some of the sound tracks for ZIDC then I would check out the channel that I got some of the tracks from.

I went back and made it clear in an explanation that you will die if either Food/Drink gets to 0. I've also created a new hint section for food and water at the Hint Hub.

I looked into the mechanics of the gathering for clay and remembered that 3 of the girls relate to the material gathering stat. The probability is based on your stat for trying to gather materials for those 3 girls. There's different tiers
Pansy (Black hair, Twin buns like Tenten from Naruto): Ochre dye, Red dye, Black dye, White pearl, Black pearl
Camellia (white haired teen loli): Seaweed, Seashells, Flint, Obsidian, Lapis Lazuli
Village Girl 2 (Potter - big titty teen): Clay, Rich Clay
On easy mode and level 60 or more you get the chance and the increased probability to gain the higher tier material items so that you can give them to the girls.

As for a progress report, I am now working on version 1.21, which will focus on some render remakes. I've already did some bonus stuff for 3 new tribal girls. The Shaman, The Odd Scout, and The Naughty One. There is also some new renders done for the scene that introduces the tribal girls taking over the cove.
