Their censorship is a leftover from an old era that nobody dared to change because nobody wants to be "that guy". They barely even enforce it, often creators will give you uncensor patch via mail if you ask, the thing is officially everything is censored because technically they can hunt you for it. Also yes, if I was DLsite I would also not want foreigners with loli content there, why would they accept you if your own country doesn't or view it as problematic at best?

If one of the most popular creators after sharing uncensored files many times only gets warned it's not a sign of strongly enforcing a law in my opinion. It's still a law, and if someone reports it they must act on it, they don't have a choice, but if it's just a warning it's obvious nobody really cares. Same with torrenting movies in my country. You can't do it, nobody cares but I got reported once and I was called for the hearing, but police was just pissed they have to deal with it, they told me if I had something I surely already deleted it and told me to go home. With uncensored porn it's a bit trickier because unfortunately if someone reports you they probably have a proof of it. So yeah, nobody cares, they don't want to enforce it but since it's the law and they get a report they need to act.

As for your case Japan probably doesn't care but since laws in the west are different and realistic art is probably the easiest to make fuss about DLsite has no reason to let you in, it's simply not worth it. Somebody can make a ruckus about it and DLsite will get ricocheted. If they arrest you in your country for your realistic art they will also get negative press because they allowed your stuff. They don't care, for them the west is problematic and they don't want to deal with it. I don't blame them that they have negative bias towards to west considering we constantly try to fuck with them. Japanese are not stupid, they see how be ban games from Steam, they see how Visa and Mastercard are making trouble for everyone, they see how other sites shut down loli and incest projects, I don't blame them for shoot first ask questions later policy regarding western content creators. With you there is more than one layer of problems - you have loli stuff, you use realistic art, you have or used to have uncensored art, you are ( I assume) from western country that likes to make problems and you even have "Teen" in your name.

It's not your fault, but I also don't blame DLsite, lately they had to rename some of their tags, they had to lock some games from non - japanese regions, they had to struggle with Visa and MC to the point they made new way to pay for their works - all because of the west, and they don't care if it's US, Australia or Poland. In a totally made up and just for discussion fake argument, say the entire planet maxed out their credit cards.

I don't have the info. For all I know, the duopoly doesn't need the rank and file customers but make their money with other companies / corporations.

While interest on unpaid credit card debt brings in sizable profits for them, their bread and butter exists in the form of processing fees. They charge between 1% and 3% on every transaction at the moment it's made, even for debit transactions. They'd most likely have a slow year that's barely noticeable beyond maybe scaring off some investors. And a whole bunch of businesses would probably get shafted as processing fees go up to compensate for the lost interest.

Exclusivity contracts and suspiciously convenient bugs. Visa and Mastercard have coerced most banks and businesses to sign contracts agreeing to only use them for transactions. The few times a new payment processor has tried breaking into the market card readers either slow down or outright fail to read the new cards, while miraculously being fine whenever Visa or Mastercard are used. And businesses that accept the new cards often find that their transaction fees when taking Visa or Mastercard increase. For everyone who isn't a billionaire it's safer to keep using the duopoly than risk destroying your livelihood by rocking the boat. Even major banks would run the risk of being ruined if they try to break free.

Problem is. In countries like mine. I can only choose between Mastercard or Visa. And, even then, I have to switch banks if I wanted to change.

I did however contact my bank back when this all started, and asked if they were aware that this is happening and ok with it. And, if they are open into looking into other options.
The one I talked to just said. Censorship is never a good idea, then told me that they would send the information to the higher ups.
Have not heard or seen anything about it since. :/

Yeah I never understood why Japanese anything porn wise is/was so popular.
