You are on some sort of quest and come across an apothecary who was killed and his daughter kidnapped. You have to find them in the woods and kill the kidnappers. There is also a dark elf or some similar-looking lady who joins your party but is reluctant to trust you.

I can't remember the game so this might be from a separate game, but you possibly encounter a house in a forest or something and there is a witch you have to face who was cursed or something like that and you can rid her of the curse and she joins you.

The best details I can remember are that you are a swordsman from potentially another world with a voice of some being in your head that helps you somewhat. Later in the story she is able to manifest in the same world you are in. I remember you having a little group you travel with after saving a girl whos father was killed. She turns out to be an apothecary or scientist. You kill the kidnapper/slaver and her husband/partner who had this scientist and the slavers wife/partner can join you as a prisoner or be killed. There is a dark elf with them who was about to be killed I think. She doesn't trust you for a while because of her treatment there. You stumble across an abandoned mansion or manor and people are possibly disappearing. You search the place and find the basement has body parts and evidence of some sort of magic that makes reanimated bodies or something like that that are maybe artificial or maybe a host for a soul. I remember the witch telephones you all to a special magic room that you have a fight in. Her weak point ended up being an amulet or gem or something like that. You break that and it turns out to be a scientist or mage or someone like that who got cursed/possessed by an evil demon witch. She joins you. At one point you pick up a young girl who and your party is caring for her when something happens and you are called away. It cuts back to the girl who has now aparently found that her stuffed animal can talk to her and can transform into something. She aparently leaves with it and it cuts back to you.

That is all I can remember. I don't remember how fight scenes went. I don't remember the animation style either.

I can't fully remember that aspect. It definitely wasn't 2D. I want to say it was similar to the style in Now and Then. That 3D is semi-realistic but not hyper realistic. I think I remember when searching the manor/mansion that it becomes a top down 2D style just so you can search the room easily by clicking things.
