You'd still be able to find areas in the Amazon and in Indonesia. But yes, it's been going on for decades and main culprit in most places is indeed clearings in order to run unsustainable farming. Palm oil and soya not least.I think "intact and untouched" went away in the 80s or 90s. Wasteful slash and burn agriculture in areas that simple don't have the soil for agriculture is the main reason.
