About to head back to my chores but first I have to voice a pet peeve of mine. Why on the Goddesses green earth do they always show a countdown timer on every bomb shown in the movies or TV? I mean seriously -- especially in the digital age what possible function does it have and what evil mastermind would want the good guys to know there is a time limit? This isn't the fucking Olympics. If I were to make one -- I would include a timer -- but you better believe that sucker would go off at something like 5:03.67

It's simply easier for the audience to understand the familiar, plus it's a braindead way to increase tension with little imaginative and expository effort. It's faster than making a three to four scene set-up that then causes tension; more room for commercials.
