Which AVN did you end up playing Lazarus?

Love this unc, hope you get one of those soon!

As for my funday, I miss watching comedy with my old band mates where I used to live. Would love to spend some time again together as a group if we lived nearby again!

Unfortunately, we ended up trying One Night in Loliwood but were turned off by it.

We ended up doing a partial replay of The Daddy Plan which we plan on finishing tomorrow.

I briefly attempted learning guitar and spent some time with friends toying with the idea of starting a band. It ended up going nowhere for all of us, but it was a fun time. Wish I'd held on to that first guitar even if I'd never play it again. Hopefully it ended up in the hands of someone that gave her some good use.

MTG! Admittedly, I have never played. However, I have a newer coworker (young guy) that's obsessed.

I've always been open to trying it but the opportunity never really presented itself and no one in my family has ever gotten involved with trading card games.

Said coworker has told me he'd outright give me a deck if I wanted to play. Think I should take the offer?

Thank you for sharing, Slum. <3
If he's willing to try and teach you, while going slow, and you're willing to learn it, I don't see a probably with at least trying it out.
I like it, and all the deck possibilities makes me squeal! :p

Unfortunately, we ended up trying One Night in Loliwood but were turned off by it. Not @Jorund 's fault at all, there are just themes in there that put me and my wife off immediately.

We ended up doing a partial replay of The Daddy Plan which we plan on finishing tomorrow.

@Jorund was fantastic in his recommendations though, I have to give him some serious praise. There's damn near a page worth of recommendations to go through, all with links and full descriptions and explanations (written by @Jorund himself) all because I asked. He deserves kudos.

As with most things, personal preference is personal and subjective. Glad the other game is treating you well instead - and glad you have members of the community contributing suggestions too! Nice to have recommendations. I would be interested to see some well done reviews if Jorund’s list of recs is published somewhere 🤔

good morning yall, let's start a fresh week

I'll talk with him next time we work together and see where things go. From what I gathered, he gets together with a small group to play every week at a little hobby shop.

I know I've seen a good deal of MTG art and lore that I've enjoyed. Not sure if a TCG is my speed but what's the harm in trying?

Good morning lurkers, happy monday!

They promissed us a new barista in the office today, hope she will look like this... but probably not.

Is there a reason why in games updates
games are from 2022 but are NEW ?
Just because they are only posted now, they are still old.

Exactly, then you can say, you have at least tried it, and it's not for you. :p

Because they are new to this place?
They'll probably only show up that one time then, if they don't get any updates. :p

I'm not going through 11 pages to see if someone else already address this, but the first one is a punch card. Small rectangular holes were punched in them to create lines of code - effectively a punch was a "1" and a non-punch was a "0". Massive stacks of these things were precisely punched using something similar to a typewriter and then fed into a reader in a precise order to run a program of some sort - heaven forbid you fed one upside down or from the wrong end - the cut corner was supposed to help prevent that since it would be out of position should either of those things occur. The reply I'm writing might take a couple inch stack of cards to write out (wild speculation - but simple programs literally took hundreds of cards). They are what was in use when living things were first being sent into space.

The computer department at my college still had these, and the ability to use them, in the mid-80s when I was learning to program in COBOL at a terminal on the university mainframe - they were needed because some "simple" things were still done using these cards and the MIS majors at that time still had to know how to use them, make new ones, and to be able to trouble-shoot and fix systems that relied upon them. The lower-end laptop I'm on at this very moment probably has more computing power than that mainframe I learned programming on. Hell, my two year old phone probably has more ability and storage than that mainframe.

Anyway, programmers today have it easy compared to what I learned, and I had it easy compared to what was used in the 60s and 70s.
That sounds so difficult to me. My first exposure to programming was in high-school learning BASIC on a monochrome desktop computer. It was kind of cool to get a BASIC program to work, but didn't enjoy that either. :geek:
Thank you, after she texted me her new Halloween costume choice I could not wait to get home.

That was what I was trying to tell her and said if you had picked one of those I would have just gone out drinking with some friends. She said I bet I could do something that would change your mind.....

 She was right, I did not go out and we have been going at it ever since....though we might need to take a break before it kills us. ;)

I guess you could say that you've both been boning a lot!:LOL:
A lovely addition! Thanks!

Gorgeous! Glad to have you participiating!

Seems like he needed some "entertainment" to get through detention!!

And be sure to follow today's theme!

I love correlation vs causation examples -- and am truly shocked at how many people fall for them.

  1. Just because Amsterdam has a rising population of storks and babies does NOT mean that storks deliver babies
  2. Ice cream sales and shark attacks: These are correlated because both increase during warmer months, but ice cream doesn't cause shark attacks.
  3. Sunburns and ice cream sales: People are more likely to eat ice cream and spend time in the sun, but ice cream does not cause sunburns
An example , of course, of real causation is pirates and global warming. The number of pirates in the world has decreased over the past 130 years, global warming has gotten steadily worse. In fact, this makes it entirely clear that if you truly want to stop global warming, the most impactful thing to do is -- become a pirate.

These are great examples, was a fun read. Thank you. 💚
That's how it starts -- This is how it ends

Good morning everyone! 🌊👋

"KaySwitchPrime"

I haven't tried the Darkness Falls mod, well haven't tried many mods for that game, only a couple that added extra weapons.
What makes it good? :p

I've seen them on the shelves over here.
But never tried them, is it a one and done thing, or is there some variaty to it, if you play it again?
RE: Darkness Falls. I got ChatGPT to help me...
Darkness Falls adds new classes, skills, weapons, zombies, and crafting systems to create a more challenging and survival-focused experience. It slows down progression, adds more dangerous enemies (like demon zombies), and encourages exploration with custom POIs, new biomes, and quests. The mod also rebalances loot and introduces features like farming reworks, backpack sorting, and more complex base defense strategies.

Basically, it makes 7 Days to Die feel like a tougher, more RPG-like survival game. You can read about it and download it here:
RE: Escape room games...I've only played the EXIT series which 2/2 have been a hit. There are other publishers as well. The EXIT series are a one shot, one and down playing experience. I try to keep an eye on prices and buy them with they are on the lower end $14 where some are nearly $30 CAD.
I never knew that we had the same dance moves. Huh.. would ya look at that!

Nice moves! 🕺

I started playing Magic the Gathering in about 1995 for a few years. Played with a friend, but probably most with my family and also played in a few local tournaments. You can image they've added so many cards since then, which has made the game more complicated, but it seems to be still going strong. I did most recently play it again about a year ago with a new Commander variant which as interesting, but I was at quite the disadvantage not knowing any of the cards where everyone else knew most of the cards. First of all, having someone or people to play with is important and if the idea of deck building appeals to you, that can be a fun aspect of the game. I'd definitely try it if you have someone that will show you the ropes and you can decide if it's something you'd enjoy. I know they've added a few different IPs to the game in recent years, like Lord of the Rings and Warhammer.

Does anyone snowboard? This picture makes me wish I still snowboarded, but I haven't gone in decades, mostly afraid of falling and hurting myself, but I don't like cold or snow :ROFLMAO:

I used to, I also used to like other winter activities. Ice fishing, Ski/snowboard, hunting, even never minded shoveling or snow blowing.
Now, I freaking hate snow and cold and winter itself. Also afraid of falling and breaking a hip. Long story short, I Agree...🤭

Good morning everyone! 🌊👋

Yupp, the bank is nice, you can collect 2% interest every 24 hours.
Be warned though, depositing and withdrawing resets the timer to a new 24 hours.
So the thing is, to do it after you've collected. :p
Good morning. And thanks for the additional information.

dirty! NO! I don't think you're supposed to eat that!

Good morning. And thanks for the additional information.

Also if it isn't obvious, the interest is based on what's IN the bank, not all coins you have. :p

Morning spawns of hell, a fresh new week has started and for me that means back to work, but first a short backreading.

I know it's no Kitty Question of the Day, but: I'd like to know what you all would share during Funday and who you would like to invite? If you want to share but don't want to do it publicly, feel free to shoot me a DM - I'd love to hear your responses.

Just take a coffee/tea (your drink of choice really) and talk about anything for a while, its and activity I usually enjoy and I probably would invite anyone from my family.

I'm not going through 11 pages to see if someone else already addressed this, but the first one is a punch card. Small rectangular holes were punched in them to create lines of code - effectively a punch was a "1" and a non-punch was a "0". And that's the history of programming as a whole, every day is easier to do it, but with it comes its own problems.

Geez, how much do you have in the bank then? What are you collecting all of that for?

It's not that much really, and it's mainly to have a backlog in case of new changes in this place as well as to support our local ai users.

An example , of course, of real causation is pirates and global warming. The number of pirates in the world has decreased over the past 130 years, global warming has gotten steadily worse.
