Yeah I used to be subbed on SS until the update was (paraphrased) "right now it's too hot to render, so the update will be delayed until summer is over." Like, are home air conditioners illegal in the UK or what?

Not illegal, but also not really a thing until recently. Prior to global warming, the UK had short heatwaves and didn't get the really nasty energy-draining humidity you get in parts of the US, so there was never a big market for window-air conditioners. They had commercial systems in big buildings, but homes generally had no AC. Today, homes in the UK are getting AC, but it is generally the more expensive permanent mini-split systems, not window AC units. They also tend only have the portable AC units (the ones where the entire unit is inside and floor standing with a hose that vents out), not the more efficient window units the US has, and they often have higher electric rates making those units far more expensive to run.
That being said, it is still a weak excuse.

No sane person actually waits for a render to finish. That's like waiting for a pot to boil while watching it. They pose and queue up 10-20 of them and then go to bed.Hopefully he has better luck than this guy.

Yup, that is like another game (I can't remember which one for sure) where once per day you can pass time & make a little $$$ by cryptomining. I thought when I saw it that that was nuts, no one starts mining and then sits and watches it to pass the time (maybe at first, but not if they do it repeatedly).

It's not considered abandoned until 12 months of radio silence or 18 months of no update. Sometimes real life does shitty things and slows things down. Most AVN devs are 1-man-shows so can't pass the buck temporarily when that happens. Just play something else until there's actual news.

That is all too true, real life always gets in the way, we must show the devs some patience and give our support when needed. After all most people here get their hard work for free.

Long story, but keeping it short and simple I just have an incest fetish, and not just in AVNs. The nicest comes from most rl incest stories you hear about are not happy ones, but mine is for once (well, mostly, if ignore the getting disowned part).That is all too true, real life always gets in the way, we must show the devs some patience and give our support when needed.
