I don't follow the comics, but now my interest is peaked. What would you recommend starting with if I wanted to make a purchase of some paperbacks?

I totally agree. I keep getting click bait articles about the third one. Still looking forward to it, eventually.

Either way, all I follow nowadays are the alt universe stuff like the new Ultimate Universe or the Absolute universe on DC's side.

Im a DC guy all the way and I feel a lot of their mainline titles are hitting, the absolute universe is interesting, I just wonder how long it can actually go on for, I can see why some people like the craziness of absoulte batman but for me Im tired of snyder writing batman, alot of it comes off as cringe to me with how over the top it is but im glad a lot of people enjoy it
