For me it's the opposite, I've always been trying to find a horror movie that really "scared" me. The closest I would say is "The Hills Have Eyes", and more than "scare", I would say it makes me unconfortable...

I loved a couple things that come to mind.

In Spain we have the same cross for pharmacies.
It's clear and you can see it from far away.

If only the pharmacies were turning them off when it is not working hours. Driving around, oh a green cross, stop just to find out that it is closed (siesta) and I don`t even know when they will open because working hours paper is on inside door which is closed by the shutter. FML

Well, pharmacies are very important and should be very easy to find even for those who are unfamiliar with the area, especially in a more or less dire situation.
I mean, you do not want to need to search for a long time for the pharmacy even with people pointing you into the right general direction when you've spent half a day in your hotel rooms toilet sh*tting you insides out after a night of excruciating bowel cramps because you (read: i) didn't know what histamine was all about and what it does to your digestive tract. I'll gladly ignore the slighly 'tacky' neon looking sign if that means i can see where i need to go from relatively far away.

Oh come on, you can tell someone else that it's necessary to have this shit just to make it easier to find. It could simply glow green.
