Usually, I don't really care for attempts at comedy. At the end of the day, I'm downloading these games to get my rocks off, not be entertained by a masterclass in comedic cinema. If the writer is good, then it's fine and can work well. Most of the time this is not the case and it's just cringe.

I dont mind when creators try to do something other than "make it sexy" if thats what keeps them going. at the end of the day this is a passion for them and I know I will enjoy it more if they enjoy creating it.

definitely depends on the writing/ art as it can be done well as fuck but most times its either bad or its "haha meme we copied a meme haha laugh"

bad timing, bad setups, bad sound design
if you don't have friends or family that actually say you have a comedic personality, avoid it

I find myself laughing alot with games sometimes, especially corny jokes/memes/references, I like comedy, though I will say, be careful when adding comedy to h-scenes.

Quite a number of comedy in h-games is badly written, though this may be due to language issues sometimes.
If the comedy fits the game, or the character, i quite like it, but as i stated quite often this is not done well

yeah this. I mean, if ALL the dialogue sucks then of course youre not into the characters or situations that create the comedy.

Comedy can fit H-Games the problem is how it's implemented and written.

Look at Power Vacuum to see how it can be done right.

i disagree if the game can pull off the comedy and it's genuinely funny it make the game almost perfect in my book, like funny and freaky work so well together even outside of lewd games

Completely agree OP. Comedy just takes me out of the experience. Even a game where I can appreciate the artwork, effort, etc, making it comedic kinda ruins something for me. And a lot of games seem heavily 'comedy centric' and i just cant stay engaged with them

I don't mind it much. Some games do it better than others and a one off joke in more "serious" games is usually fine but rarely ever enhances the experience. It really just comes down to the writing and how well it meshes with the rest of the narrative.

Sometimes it's the humor that facilitates the lewd scenes. Take 30 Year Old Virgin as an example. Its characters are dumb on purpose, which sidesteps a lot of dialogue and buildup.
When the MC brews a potion to get his sister horny, he isn't thinking maliciously; he just thinks it's a funny prank.

Same as hollywood, AAA games, and tv - the problem is just that the writers aren't funny. Or are afraid of actually being funny in case somebody's feelings get hurt.

In my opinion and kinda a hot take from me but comedy doesn't belong in h-game. The jokes often unfunny and I barely laugh.

The comedic scene is dog water and kinda lame..

I know the dev and the team writing on the game probably think it's funny and all but it's not.

Sometimes the joke was miss the point or they just throw a random thing hoping it will stick to the wall.

We (as the player) was confused on what the dev want, Do they want us to become horny or they wanted us to laugh?

Those two emotion can't mix together. At least I can't

It can work if its done well, but I feel many devs dont understand the kind of people playing their game so they put a lot of unfunny things there

Comedy is hard because people have different expectations for what's funny. I find a lot of porn game comedy to be cringe. Though, a few have had little quips that have been well done. A good writer can do it, but it probably isn't the target audience to begin with.

My cringe tolerance is pretty high, but I don’t think comedy ever really works in porn games.

Humor is so subjective that the safest route is probably to just skip it altogether.
