I wonder if animals can sense when another one is older. Like does a puppy realize a senior dog may not be as physically capable anymore? Or just thinks they're tired/lazy.

The snowfall has let up in my area. For now at least. Did a couple kindnesses today, cleared snow off a neighbor's car and threw out some seed for local birds to have an easier time of the blizzard.

They lasted a few years before we started seeing the snakes...sadly the chipmunks moved on but we still see a snake now and then. The poisonous ones (mostly rattlers) we shoot since we don't want to risk family getting bit by them

Ok, I thought they were eaten, and snakes in the backyard is not fun. Unless you get hognose snakes, those dudes are silly.
