  • Donation Rewards & Vault Credit System Update
A new important update has been posted covering the Donation Rewards bug, the reset of incorrect Donation and Platinum credits, the upcoming reclaim system for previous tracked donations, and the new Vault freeze/maintenance behavior. The goal is to remove bug-generated credits, protect real donation history, and rebuild the system in a cleaner and safer way going forward. - Jack Of Blades

I enjoy the graphics of unity and unreal engine. what engine do you prefer. are there any others that you feel are better

Depends on what you're trying to make. For VNs and the like, basically always Ren'py. If you're aiming for an RPG with a free-roaming overworld, probably RPGM. If you're making something much more complex than those then maybe you need Unity.

If you ever find yourself trying to make something in Godot or Tyrano, slap yourself in the face, down a stiff cup of black coffee, and stand out in the cold until you're sober enough to try again.

If you ever even think the word "QSP", I will personally reach through your internet connection and slap the taste out your mouth.

Assuming you're talking about games in general I really like RedEngine and Cry Engine for graphics, Unity is great for Metroidvanias and cartoon like games, I also like how versatile Re Engine is, not a big fan of Unreal.

VNs get Ren'Py. For other games it really depends on what your making and how you go about doing so, you can get away with making a decent RPG on RPG maker as a lone Developer, that's a lot harder on Unreal Engine while trying to make a " good" shooter.

RenPy is perfect for VN (and KN, although I don't consider those to be games). Unity is for real games. Unreal - everything would be fine, but I constantly ran into crooked developers who are unable to optimize their games. As a result, an amateur project consumes more resources than a top modern AAA game.
HTML - I ignore it, as well as RPGM.

You pick engine based on what game you want to make.
There is no 'best engine'.

I would say the best engine in the multiverse is whatever powers the TARDIS! ;-)

Indeed. Though I would prefer control over the computer that the simulation we call "the universe" is running on.

You might have a point there. The quantization of space-time and limited speed of light is a dead giveaway that there is limited memory. Vast, but not infinite.

Nerd. ;-)

(takes one to know one, I know)

I think is Game maker or unity to indie games and unreal engine to AAA
