Unfortunately, I can't stand anime. All the adult characters that try to sound like they're 6 years old give me a headache

(The one except for me so far is One Punch Man, love that shit)

Honestly, that's cool. Even if you dislike the vast majority of something, there's always the possibility to come across something you might love. Like in this case One Punch Man, which kind of parodies certain Anime tropes.
That's what having a variety of genres is all about.

I am not that big into watching anime specifically, either. What I said is true for any kind of media I think. But it definitely wouldn't hurt to check out the top rated shows on MyAnimeList for example. Things like Full Metal Alchemist or Attack on Titan seem to be a hit for most people, even if they don't watch much anime. My own personal favorite story is the manga of One Piece. But its anime adaptation is disqualified more than twice over by your episode limitation .
