There's a limit on how big of an imageyou can use. You might want to shrink the filesize. Other things that can help is to refresh the page before trying to upload again, turn off any browser extensions, try uploading via the “Attach files” button (instead of copy/pasting the image in), turning off any vpn.

Luckily, we met again half a year later at another con and I got around to asking her name and she was relieved that I did. She had been as embarrassed as I. Then we had a laugh about the whole matter - and fucked some more. So all is well that ends well.

Sometimes that happens to me too, just try a couple of times more, refresh, or find another version of the image.
One of those usually fixes it.

I mean most of the time people never notice you do not know their name. You just need use words like bro, what's up or hey with confidence then proceed the conversation with confidence.
