Hey dirty -- The two most common ways of starting Avocados from pits are by suspending them in water till they get started or just burying the pits in a flowerpot and keeping it moist -- I have had more luck with the flower pot method -- I put 3 or 4 pits in and a couple come up after a few weeks. "They" say that they can start fruiting in 6 to 8 years but nothing on mine yet.
