I'm really glad that era of anime fandom is gone. It was already beginning to die when I began actively taking part in the community, but it was very much still a thing until around the mid 2010s? So much stuff coming out now that it's literally impossible to watch everything.
100% of people are consumers. There are endless examples of men, women and everything in between frivolously spending money on unnecessary shit. We're all guilty to a degree. Keep in mind that every time you point a finger at someone, there are three more pointing back at you.

People tend to ignore the details and variables of studies. It depends on what areas you are looking at. You can't make a blanket statement like 80 percent of ...., without having something to back it up that is credible.

I miss good 80s synthwave. It was really kicking around 2014-2018 (Carpenter Brut being top of the line IMO), but it seems most of the best artists have fled the genre. I don't even know where music is going now. Someone recommend me something they like, either synthwave or something else. Surprise me.
