Even though I'm Brazilian, my favorite one is Dune, not I'm Still Here (though it's my second fave).

My least liked is Emilia Pérez, but I haven't seen The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown nor Nickel Boys. Neither is airing in my country, and I haven't seen good versions to download. The Brutalist releases Feb 20th here, so there's some time to watch it, but I don't think I'll get to watch the other two before the Oscars. Not that I care too much, it's mostly a curiosity for me, not a big thing.

What about you guys?

Dune Part Two, but I enjoyed A Complete Unknown, Anora, and The Substance as well

I think this is the first year I have not seen a single nominated movie and I don't plan on watching one. However I will probably watch The Substance at one point because I had people whos tastes align with mine tell me both how bad and how good it is.

I don't see Dune winning best picture although I enjoyed watching it. Anora or the substance wouldn't surprise me. The other ones I haven't seen so can't talk about it.

A quick way to tell if there's ever been a movie I haven't seen: Hast it ever been nominated for an Oscar? ;) Although, I might make an exception for The Substance.

I guess it's Dune by default cause it's the only one I saw...
A good criteria if I ever saw one.

I heard A Complete Unknown is pretty good and got in pretty strongly this award season, though I haven't been following it too closely.

Honestly, if a movie from my home country wasn't nominated for Best Picture, I wouldn't have watched many of them. Dune is the sort of movie I like and a few others had me curious, but I never even learn about all of those movies before they're nominated, and it's hard to watch every single one.

Can't talk about The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown nor Nickel Boys, but everything else other than Emilia Pérez is at least okay to me. EP is awful though.

To be fair, I always go after the nominated movies, but it's hard to watch them all because I never heard about most of them before. There are years I don't even bother trying to watch, and others I watch as many as I can.

If Dune doesn't win, then it further shows how much of a scam Oscar's has become. Dune is a tectonic film, better than Star Wars.

No way in hell they give Dune 2 best picture, despite how much it deserves it. But even if they did, it still wouldn't make the Oscars relevant.

well oscar now became such a joke of award that the rating is plummeting

With Emilia Pérez getting such a ridiculous amount of nominations, is anybody actually taking the Oscars seriously anymore?

I suspect most people haven't taken the Oscars seriously for a very long time.

Dune 2 and Anora is highest on the list for me. Then again I have watched too few of the movies mentioned. Ain't enough time in the day to keep up with everything :(

I stopped following Oscar contenders a very long time ago, because in the last 12-15 years, the concept of “Oscar laureate” does not at all imply quality movies.

A Complete Unknown--YES
Emilia Perez, What a disgusting movie, I speak Spanish but Selena speaks ugly and it is not understood, I know her character is like that but it goes too far.
The one who sings the worst, there are memes in that movie
