Its also the sad fact 2005/2007 they had coop gameplay on every mission via gamespy servers that was so fun oh and custom character creator/duel guns just more fun but also less content for sure for me its a toss up

Gtaiv in 2008 had a online mode no coop same with 5

Only gta sa had a half ass coop mode.
When Gamespy was closed down in 2014 we learned that good games should have an enjoyable singleplayer which can still be played if multiplayer is no longer available.
Coop gameplay actually is about the only type of multiplayer I'm in for. I remember tons of Warframe rounds carrying or being carried, Warhammer 40k Darktide just the story not the endgame and Killing Floor 1 and 2 with their quick and satisfying coop rounds. Also I'm looking forward to Killing Floor 3 becoming available end of March. Yes, they're all shooters which is my main genre besides porn games. All those games have very good multiplayer and are reasonably priced (and I'm cutting the trace back to the topic of this thread :) .

I'd be surprised if the price of the game did go up to $100, but I also feel like GTA 6 would be the one game that could get away with it.

Guys please think a little... Obviously it will be the now standard 69.99 USD and 79.99 EUR. There is only 1 thing that matters to Rockstar and Take-Two and that is GTA Online 2. That's where the real money will come in with the microtransactions. Why would they set the entry price so high? They will want to sell as much as possible because more players mean more people to buy the stupid microtransactions.

On the playstation 5 gtao is free gta sp cost money

I have less FOMO with videogames today than any generation before thanks to PS Plus Extra, and I imagine GamePass subscribers have much less reason to buy day one. While GTA 6 could still sell tons at a higher price tag, I think other games that try that might fail hard because a gamer's patient is more rewarding every day.

Now this is just talk but as we know the ps5 brought in $70 games the playstation 6 is next year and you got AAA budgets between 400-700 million for trash.

Would you accept AAA games at $80 AA games at $60?
If the PS6 is next year it ain't going to do well, there was barely a reason other than loading times to transition from the ps4, most of the exclusives are either both ps4&ps5 or are now also releasing on the pc.

That and graphics, but I don't think graphics are the biggest deal considering how popular the Switch is

I think the same, the graphics on the consoles don't matter as much as the ease of use and the catalog, that's why the PS2 made so much money in the past and the Switch in the present.

Yeah, I only have PSN and I still have a lot of backlog right now from games added to the catalog. Again, GTA is a monster of the industry and would probably sell regardless of price, but Yearly Ubislop 3? Not so sure.

Honestly, I would pay a $100 dollars for GTA 6. Its probably the only game that would be worth that much in terms of content and quality.

well for me ill still wait for how much content is in the game, because right now too many games just like check box list games and not fun anymore

Greedy fuckin suits they always answer the question that enough money is never enough.

GTA 6 wont even be released on the PC for at least 2-3 years after the console launch as well.

thats also the other problem , i have no console so waiting for pc version is gonna be a long long time lol

Yes, if I think it is worth it I will gladly pay it. But always hard to know if something is worth if without buying it first. But games like Witcher 3 I bought on the cheap. And that game I could have easily paid 70 or 80 bucks for, because of the great quality of the game. And all report indicate that GAT 6 will be quite massive. But I'd wait to get the player reviews before splasinh out a hundie.

When markets burst, the values tend to go up rapidly as the market gets to the point of collapse. AAA gaming is a bubble that isn't sustainable at all. The live service model is just shifting the deck chairs around, rather than actually expanding the market, since the market is already over saturated. I think gaming as a whole will survive, but many of these big studios won't. The real top dogs will cling to survival while the middle will hollow out, and have to be built back up to a more realistic size.

Just like the 80's/90's then with sega

I am very shocked do too the lack of any consumer protection right now in America that Microsoft just does not buy out sony as a whole.

Sony entire year profit as a company is just every so better than what activision made in a year compared to Microsoft that makes more in one quarter so they could absorb the buyout cost in a year 2 tops.

I am not saying that is good nor do i condone monopolies but like you said there is so few big companies left it is strange the trillionare giant stopped buying studios.

Honestly I don't expect GTA to be $100, but I don't think we're far away from that price point. Game prices have been shockingly resistant to inflation, but that bubble is going to pop soon.
