I mean, plastic is relative. I think this stuff was kinda like plastic but almost ceramic.. Bakelite comes to mind. Thick, heavy and strong as hell. Also yes, short cords, one phone call at a time (even with multiple phones in the house), and if you had the guts to connect to internet (dialup), nobody can touch the phone or call you while connected or that 512x512 jpeg you where waiting 2 hours for got ruined. Different times lol
when internet 1st became available even someone trying to call your house would knock you offline...then they put option to block incoming calls while online. Or maybe it was that damn call waiting feature on the phone, can't remember...lol

How about back in the day when you actually had to DIAL a phone? I hadn't since about 1983 - one time in the late 80s or early 90s someone wanted me to call in pizza delivery. They had a dial (rather than push button) phone. I no longer could do it - my finger got caught before I could pull it out. I can't imagine anyone still has (hooked up) that sort of phone. Especially since until some time in the 80s you couldn't actually OWN a phone - you had to rent from the phone company.
You can still get throwback dial phones -- They change the old dial sounds to digital so they are compatible but the dial still functions as it should - I had one for a while but the cuteness factor eventually gave way to the annoying factor.

Just be careful about drinking too much this weekend everyone or you may pass out on the bar..
It raises so many questions when someone passes out

They really look cute but I'm glad I never had to use one, outside of play pretend in Kindergarten.

What're you looking at?
CaptainLevi, if that's AI, I'm gonna have to ask you to delete, or I can move it into another thread, where AI is allowed. :p
Edit: Welp, I think, I gave enough time.

When I was young we not only had a dial phone -- but it was a party line for a few years as well

Correct, early days someone calls you and you get knocked off the internet.
Later, someone calls you and they got a busy tone, a big problem for working men (on standby, industrial installations to help in emergencies - pre-cell phone). Shits burning down and nobody responds cos they all dowloading a jpeg overnight :ROFLMAO: good times
