1 Year of Service
It's nice until it isn't, but even then if you think ahead you're fine even during the bad times. Having a job is a lot more stable, but I don't do well with people that aren't directly handing me money telling me what to do when I know how to get the job done.Ind. contractor work sounds nice, might just be my brain thinking that after struggling to find a job for a couple of years, finally found one but it still took a good bit.

Main idea is build up a few months worth of expenses at minimum and keep that stashed unless you absolutely need it. If you have that then you're good to make shit work even if you gotta do some easy shit like driving for Uber. When I first started working towards not having a direct "job" I was renting a car for Uber and driving 10 hours a day and used the money from that to buy equipment and certifications.
