Hello everyone.

I currently have found a bit more energy to write again and now I was wondering.

Would anybody be interested in a story like this?
If so: what overall genre would you prefer and what details would the story entail for you to deem it good, or enjoyable?

EDIT because I forgot to clearify:
CYOA= Choose your own adventure

Thank you.

And sorry to everyone else, I should have clearified that

I did, what I always do with unexplained abbreviations and obscure words on this site, and looked it up on urbandictionary.com. While writing this post, WalkyPerv already posted the solution.

I am confused by the original question. Visual novels are essentially just the modern form of Choose Your Own Adventure. So what does it mean to write a CYOA story in the context of this site? Doing it in a printed book? Or doing a very simplistic visual novel like the (mostly unpopular) ones typically implemented in HTML?

Why not? If it's good I would play it.

I mean it in a literal sense.
While I´m certainly not good enough to write a book, I´m pretty confident I could bring a long enough story to paper (or in this case PDF I guess) so it would be worth reading.

Why I´m doing this poll is to 1. get a general feel of interest in such a thing and 2. to find out if a certain overal genre would be interesting (e.g. drama, slice of life, or whatnot)

Choose Your Own Adventure
I think a majority of the visual novels are, at least the good ones I personally enjoy. For example, I'm having a great time exploring SSP after I found out it had a ton of branches. What would be different about yours?

Good question actually

I have no actual idea, since I never played SSP, but since it gets referenced here a lot, I´ll definitly look at it.

For my stories: I have a backround of almost 20 years as a gamemaster in different tabletop and Pen&Paper roleplaying games, so I´m fairly confident, I can write engaging stories and since I watch a LOT of porn and read a LOT of porn-fanfics, im fairly confident in my erotic scenes too, so I´m sure I could cook up something good.

As for branches: I think my first few stories will not have too many branches, cause I never wrote a CYOA-Story (on paper), but if my stories succeed, I´ll continue with more complex stories.

Sorry but I don´t speak spanish (assuming this is spanish, sorry if it´s not)

Well, the idea and p&p experience are pretty irrelevant when it comes to gaming since you need to put them into a game. Means you need to know the code/engine you are working with...and most people are not into text only, they want art. So you either need an artist, make it yourself or find enough fitting pics/vids for your charas and the storyline.
Sure, many would prefer open games instead of some semi-kinetic novels with little or even meaningless choices, but there is a reason why they are rare and mostly get abandoned.

But to answer the question: Yes. And since there are tons of life-sims i would prefer a fantasy or scifi setting, but most important would be a female protagonist with a lesbian harem route, these are extremely rare.

That´s exactly why I asked for a CYOA-STORY and not a game ;)
While my boyfriend is a studied game-programmer, I suck at it so I won´t even try. But what I´m pretty good at is writing engaging stories so... that´s that :)

But thank you that gives me an idea. While lesbian is not my forte, I can certainly try to make something like this. At least as a short story (y)

there are a few that would be of interest to me and some would involve harem setting. A futa MC with a harem building plan...sci fi type setting.. pregnancy would be a must... if you deposit the seed it must grow indeed.

I mean, generally if it isn't a VN and lists itself as a 'game' I think that most dev's aspire to give their players as much control over the story as possible. The issue is that more choices lead to more complex programing leading it to become unmanageable. At least that is what I'm learning as a develop my own game.

I feel like doing a CYOA would make for an interesting way to frame an old school nancy drew-esque game. Basically a neat way to thematically design it, but other than that it might not have much to differentiate it from other game types
