My favorite is the devs who reply to pretty much every comment on sites like this or 95 and then have the balls to ban/block the uploaders from their paid sites to make getting updates harder. They like the site for feedback but punish those who make the feedback possible.

I really really liked WVM for this; Shauna's story has been delightful so far. I was put off of it at first because the MC kept deadnaming her but his girlfriend brought it to his attention early on and shut that shit down, and everything since has been so fucking whlolesome.
Friends in Need also did a good job with this I feel, on the other side of things.
I dunno if you've played either, but I seriously suggest WVM if you haven't. It's got several characters and I feel does an ok job.

I've known gamer girls IRL for ages at this point. Basically all the friends I made in school and at conventions played games to some degree or another; my mother in law actually met her husband through online gaming. The ratio is not as skewed as people think, but most girls don't exactly engage in online chatter, for obvious reasons.
If the vocal minority weren't such fucktards I think you'd see the ratio better, but the internet has that issue.

Again, they're present in these games, they just don't make it all that known. I know three girls that are obsessed with FFXIV in real life, and maybe six or seven that I've met online. It helps that I was around roleplay communities, which while those still have plenty of guys, there's a good mix of girls in them.
You just gotta know where to look, gotta not be an ass when talking to the ones you encounter, and be fun. They'll introduce you to friends of theirs and before you know it the ratio of your circle will be a lot more even.

But it's typically a subscription and none of these devs do more than monthly updates that are worth anything, they just think it'll get them more subs from people looking for the latest update.

Personally if I see stuff like that happening on one of these sites and it's a game I'm considering subbing to it'll turn me off the idea completely. I use these sites to give games their first go (or more if they're not worth $$) because most of these games aren't worth paying for imo. If the game is worth paying for then I put out a sub while updates are actively being done, but most games I've done that for have fallen into lack of content or turned to shit.

Regular games, TV, and movies cost too damn much these days too. Haven't purchased a mainstream game in at least a year. Torrents got me my gaming/media fix for free, no subscription or purchases necessary.
