Proud Father (Off-Topic)

EDIT: Found also this: X home was raided on August 2 last year and police seized multiple electronic devices, which not only contained more than 140,000 child abuse files related to the game itself but 577 files containing child abuse material involving real children.

If the last part is true, it is deserved. You can always argue about the fictional stuff and the 140k files were clearly renders and things like that, but the other real files are sickening.
577 is an awful low number compared to the usually terrabytes of data found in c.p. raids.

My first assumtion is, that those are "borderline" or "j.ail bait" porn, that was part of his normal adult porn collection, either without knowing they were under.aged or a "one or two can't harm".
Or maybe W found them by accident and saved them nontherless.
On typical chan style message boards it's not even that unusual to see someone "sell" c.P. with a REAL image attatched. During the downtime of kemono.su I sometimes visited their partychan site to get official information about the status and even there I saw those "sales" being posted multiple times. They usually get deleted within a day or two, which is still a fucking long time, probably because the lack of a report function.

But, the main point is that he had those. That above everything else is important.

It's also possible he had only started saving illegal images relatively recently.

Well, that's kinda exactly what you'd expect if there were an ongoing investigation uncovering more crimes, no?

If we play devil's advocate and assume this is entirely a case of law enforcement making up anything they can to nail him, why on earth would they start with the most minor thing (the game) and only gradually build up to the stuff no one could sympathize with (the images of real children)? Any halfway intelligent framejob would go straight to the worst thing and tack on the lesser stuff as an afterthought.

They already nailed him with the investigation into the game. That was the low-hanging fruit. Perhaps they figured they wanted to shore up their case with more and worse shit. But, as I said, it's probably legit. I just don't trust law enforcement, especially when it comes to shit like this, where a selfie of a happy, smiling 15 year old flashing her cute titties is treated the same, or nearly so, as an image of a 5 year old crying as she is raped.

It's also possible he had only started saving illegal images relatively recently.

Or they were collected before he found a new, non-harmful outlet for his loli urges, and he never got around to deleting them for whatever reason.

I wonder what @Seath Black thinks about this whole situation? I'm guessing one way or another, we're never getting a conclusion on Proud Father from him...

Conspiracy theorists might point out that law enforcement agencies archive kiddie porn materials used as evidence in legitimate cases and can easily "plant" them if that seems necessary to achieve an end in less than legitimate cases. They're also thought to occasionally plant drugs, guns, and so on, but that's just a conspiracy theory. Can't be taken seriously.

Or they planted evidence, reckoning that some people might be sympathetic toward a perp who had only virtual images, perhaps enough to eventually get rid of such asinine laws (most likely not from just this case but a preponderance of them over years, many people rotting in prison for fake shit, assuming Australia has reformist organizations like most more-or-less democratic societies do). Probably such "evidence" will always be "found" sooner or later for every single virtual "rock spider" to make sure they are all placed beyond the pale and reform is stymied, just like cops do here in the U.S.
I don't see any reason for them to do that since in australia they don't make the distinction between fictional and real content so even by just making the game and having those files he was pretty much fucked. From the article I've read he was also charged for filming 3 women without their consent so it seems like he is just a freak. It's sad because the game was good, but when you cross the line from fictional to real stuff you deserve to be punished. It's hard for me to feel bad for him right now.

Are the majority of people in Australia retarded or something?
nah just the people running the country are! :ROFLMAO:

sad, but true.

It would appear that they are judging on "intent".

"if you are making art about it, then that means you desire that in real life" - the next step in control of the public mind.

In my opinion.

Have you heard of Drop Bears ? I kid you not, there are tourists that come here and believe the bullshit stories we tell them about Drop Bears
But they are real.

every time we hear about this case, there is more and more shit added to it to make Westy sound worse. First it was just his game, which consisted of obviously not-real images, that was only illegal due to Australia's idiotic laws. Then, suddenly there was stuff about blackmailing girls or something. Now there are supposedly images of real children and self-produced voyeur stuff. Next he will be a kingpin of preteen prostitution or some shit.
Exactly, its been over a year since he got raided and we are only hearing now about the real life stuff. That is very unusual. Also other than his local newspaper, the media is basically ignoring the case. Another thing is no explanation about the fact he was meant to be sentenced months ago, yet is still on remand until February. When he was arrested, the cops tried to make him look like a big time crime lord

Somebody post the article with names/locations redacted as per the rules. Or what are we even discussing here.

Does anyone know what happened with this novel?
Proud father

The dev got arrested in australia.

I wish someone could/would take this one up for him in his absence.

People would need to have the character assets and there are only a couple of people that seem to have them, and those people already have to work on their own games. This game died the moment westy got arrested I don't even know why the main thread still has the on hold tag. It's abandoned. It's sad but we can't do nothing about it, just let the game rest in peace.

Does anybody have some more recent information?

Preferably a link to the actual sentencing?

At this point we are still going on some newspaper articles.

As far as we know he is getting sentenced this month. The media has not said what day yet, and its to early in the morning to get today's Court Listings

Going to prison because of a game is bullshit, but ever since I found out that he actually had content with real kids in his pc I stopped feeling bad for him.
