I have actually seen this happen -- This happens when a multi-use
tank car gets steam-cleaned in between loads, and the valves are closed before the temperature stabilizes. Tanker cars that carry fluids at normal temperatures and pressures are generally designed to withstand the
outward pressure that the fluid exerts on the walls. They are not designed to withstand a vacuum.
What this does do not show is the idiot (not me) who did it being fired .
