This game does not provide much suspension of disbelief.

I know the author writes something about wanting to skip grind, but I can't really follow a story when all good things are just flung at the protagonist with no effort whatsoever.

There is an easy solution for this, for example> The age of consent in Hungary is 14. A close-in-age exemption allows sexual acts from age 12 if the older party is under 18.

True that, there have been some reasonable attempts at letting teenagers be teenagers. They're gonna do stupid shit anyway, no need to label them as sexual deviants because of bad wordings of laws.
And of course it stands to reason that no law can cover every eventuality. That's why the spirit of the law is at least as important as the word of the law.

Considering that before the modern age in most of the world, including Europe, girls could marry and even have children when they started having periods (from about age of 12 or so), the Hungarial laws are quite realistic. Juliette was only 13 after all and the problem was not her age but interrelations between the families.

Game progression is a bit rushed as I've decided to have more content rather than more realism.If I was to go down the more realism route, then it would take ages for you to progress with the girls (and you'll likely get bored of waiting for something to happen).

What really splits the waters, is that anyone doing anything with someone legally underage, but still mature (i.e. two 15-years olds) will end up being tried as ****philes. This becomes especially weird, when teenagers below legal age start sexting each other. They can both technically be arrested, tried and convicted for both producing and disseminating child porn. Why? Because below the legal sexual age, they all considered children. It's a sharp line and I'm not sure how many problems it solves, versus how many it creates. The idea of these laws is very good, but they're not all that well thought out.

The problem with growing up is that everybody does it at a different speed.

Not every 16/18 year old is ready to drive a car safely. But for others this is not a problem.

Becoming an adult means that you can be held accountable for your actions.

So if you drive a car and kill someone with it in an accident, you will have to face the consequences. If you have sex at 14, you should also be ready to become a mother or father. And therein lies the problem, because 14 year olds in today's society are not nearly ready to become parents. 16 is already better but most people aren't ready until their mid-20's or something...

And lord do I appreciate that. I've played several games that have been releasing updates for years with no real sexual developments. I will never understand it how some people prefer it like that.

Totally agree with you on that. Hell, too many 25-year olds aren't even mature enough to be actual parents.
However, the problem of avoiding teenage pregnancy seems to be a rather different one than what we're discussing. I'd also say there's a far stretch between being mature enough for sex and mature enough for procreation. Aaaaaand of course, if you don't want the procreation, you'd better be ready to use pills, spermicide lube, condoms, backdoors, whatever keeps you safe. And we all know that especially hormone-ridden teenagers are the absolute masters of such careful planning!

And you gave the objection already yourself.

But yeah, (and as much as I like games+) realistically, I would really prefer it if my hypothetical best friend's daughter would wait with having sex until she's 18 or preferably 21 or something. The age where people start having sex has been going up a lot in the past decade, I think now the statistical average is around 18 now, so perhaps it's not unrealistic either.

From the Discord channel, I can reveal that his RL job and workload increased in December and January, taking away precious time to work on what really matters. He's given no date for 0.10 yet, probably because it's difficult for him to ensure that he can honor a deadline. He prefers not to give one, so he doesn't have to come up with a bunch of excuses as to why he couldn't release at any given date. He usually gives a heads up when he's getting close, so the hype can begin.

How many times have we read this from a Dev followed by the game being abandoned a couple of months later?

My work (job, not game) has increased over Dec/Jan, so I'm spending more time there than I am working on the game.
The game is not abandoned, I just have less time to work on it atm.

Hope that's not going to be the case with this one.
