In my day it was expected - turn 18 you had three choices - get a job, enlist or go to college -- in all cases you were out of the house. (considering this was during Vietnam enlisting was not too popular) Now in the states? Half of my friends have kids in their mid 30s or more living with them .

Here it's the same. Getting somewhere to live cost so much and even when you could afford him, landlords and bastards from rental agencies are really picky, refuse your application for no reason or for plain discrimination. So many people (i'm one of them too) are forced to still live with their parents.

So if you live on, you continue to pay, or if you die of old age, do you just live even longer and again, continue to pay..
