Splinter Cell is SO good... If you like Stealth Games. Otherwise, not much going for it.
Personally absolutely love it though - I'm one of the handful of people begging for a new one...

Oh I remember scouring the bay every time there was a release to play it. Man that game was awesome. It did decline a bit at the end, but the impact of choices and the heartbreak... oof.

Yeah, that's an option, but the cool-down period is a pain, and P1 gets rid of that. When posting and mining the LC, some folks don't appreciate when a person doesn't share the love back.

P1 isn't necessary for that, but it sure does make it easier. I tried it for a while, but I'm a little impatient.
