No, if you read the history of that. Sony approached Nintendo with the cd addition to Nintendo, but when Nintendo read the contract Sony was going to get the rights to all their characters. Nintendo wisely backed out of that one.

I mean depending on where you build and what you do, but once you get your base to a certain level storms won't damage you anymore. However some of the newer areas are really awesome. Another great survival game is Green Hell, I loved the mechanics in that game.
