This is some real scfi shit isn't it? Seeing stuff like this makes me think we might actually be able to establish a colony at-least on the moon in my lifetime. Dunno if my real dream of being uploaded into a new (possibly cyborg) body is in my life time though... But then again what have we seen happen in our lifetimes? As a kid i didn't think we would have something like a smart phone, which is basically a computer slightly larger than your hand that can access basically any information you want in seconds.

I still can't get over smart phones, and I helped make the first of them.

But yeah, if you told me someday that we'll shoot a skyscraper into space and then catch it again on the launch pad I'd have laughed. People always project scientific developments extremely optimistically. If you look at the flying cars of the 60s, or "Cyberpunk 2020" we fell far short of expectation. But we're getting there, slowly. In areas other than information technology. That has been the one area that has for the most part outstripped expectations at every turn. Even the direct neural input is seeing progress. I'm pretty sure I will never agree to cracking open my skull, but the option is there.

The Tales of Phantasia specifically is because it is a port of the PS2 port, which was weaker than the GameCube and ran at 30FPS.
I think most of them are lazyness and poor optimization and emulation...
