Saw a mention of chicken & dumplings somewhere last week and comfort food sounded good to me, so I made that to be my supper for the next few days. Cheated on the dumplings and used canned biscuits. Turned out pretty good. Not a trained chef, but know several, have experimented a lot, and like to cook. The last few days it was home-cooked Chinese style - finally figured out how to fry chicken chunks the way they do for General Tso's, sesame chicken, and things like that. I'm still trying to get the pancakes right. I used the box recipe a few times, and didn't like how they came out. Last time I used the "cream of tartar" method to make "buttermilk" and slightly increased the amount milk - flavor was better but texture still wasn't quite what I wanted.
