Sometimes pasting a gif I've seen it not inserting so always check beforehand. It'll upload but only be an attachment like in @ellojib post above. When you click or tap on it it'll say insert thumbnail or full image.

I insert. then it is grayed out, till it is fully uploaded. then I click on it and adjust the size with the mouse. It is the easiest way I knew.

Its all good, it's a short learning curve really, but it makes conversations a lot more fun. If you aren't lazy like me it's not really hard to start making your own gifs with your own avatar.

99% of the time that's what happens, but like anything coded you'll have that chance shit goes haywire.
