no nudity or sex. My question is -- how do I tell if a "found" image is AI? I certainly do not want to repeat the error and get another warning - or worse actual punishment. I see a lot of posts containing things I assume are technically in violation or are maybe not. I will assiduously avoid doing such a thing in the future but to be safe - how do you tell if it's AI ?

They are kind of obvious. They have a look to them. There's also usually artifacts and defects in them that give them away. the extra fingers, the smudged edges that make no sense.

3 months ago the site went through an AI purge, and we removed all ai (with only a few exceptions allowed for sfw adult avatars).

Yeah i remembered i was there when the purge happened. It was sad nonentheless but at the same time decluttered and prevented a lot of issues with the "ASSHOLE LURKERS" if i recall

Like mime said, you can learn to spot pretty much any AI image.

Buuuuuut, in this case... they were raccoons in tanks. That's pretty obvious. Raccoons do not operate tanks.

If you don't know for sure that it's not AI, don't post it. Simple as that.

Yeah, sadly, we banned all ai images.


Finding the source of the image helps. We have/had a requirement that anyone posting images (not memes) is supposed to indicate that if they made it and with what.


There is a style that many of us can spot. I deleted an ai image one time that I was certain was ai. Another moderator told me that he thought it was real and that I was wrong. I then went and found the source that indicated by whom and how the ai image was made.

on the CIVAi site there are a ton of tutorials that will teach you a lot of things. Your prompts, the models you use are a huge portion of it.

It takes some tweaking, but generally it's best to start out with simple images and slowly add complexity after it starts putting out what you want. Also useful to use the "Multiverse" tab to borrow images/prompts others have uploaded.

Yes, just use the reply buttons for everything. Leave some context. You also don't know that someone won't insert another post before yours gets there. You could also be on different pages, and before you say you aren't. Keep in mind that pages adjust as we delete posts or merge threads.
