Space marine 2 has been fun, played that for this month or so, though I feel like it's a trend game and will die out in maybe 1 or 2 more months.

Amazing game, I'm so close to getting all the achievements. Looking forward to some of the updates coming out.

Wish they'd add Orks & Necrons as new enemies.

I've been in a mood for old comedy movies, been watching the Naked Gun series. They don't make comedies like that anymore.

political correctness and this giant fear in case someone gets offended that mainstream media for some reason follow has killed comedy overall (it is probably more nuanced since example the industries overall is killing creativity in favor of psychological manipulation and algorithms but eh) which i read an interesting piece somewhere describing it as acceptable hostility. Was it not for example the guy in the office mentioning that a show like that would not be accepted in the current climate. my memory says i read it in an article or something or someone highlighting that bit from an article

I'm not saying I don't want to see more from him. Plus it's not just his age. There is no way in hell something like Blazing Saddles would be able to be made now a days or a fair amount of his movies. Cause people would find it to offensive. A lot of movies get confirmations, most of them don't come out anyway, if it does it will many years from now. Though I do hope for the best with it, I love me some space balls

I feel like its coming to a head in cinema and tv shows, people aren't liking it. Eventually it'll shift with a show/movie that doesn't care and makes something similar or new, that pushes the boundaries.

It's not a new thing to do, it's happened all the time. Comedy is all about that, it's just the soft people have a larger platform now to moan about being offended.

There seems to have been quite a lot of activity on here tonight that I will enjoy reading in the morning.
I seem to share a similar time zone to @Slumdum so a lot of our daytime hours its fairly quiet on here. Then it suddenly comes alive when its our bedtime!
No wonder slum is the back reading veteran. I will probably become his #2 at some point as we both have a lot to catch up on in the mornings

i am hoping spaceballs 2 will never happen. great things do not need sequels and franchises, but of course considering how much they sell (just look at star wars) combined with how many peopel love one thing and think more of the same is good or will sate it. when alot of things would do so much better if standing on their own without needles extending. but hey i guess i should be glad it is not a spaceballs "modern" re-imagening.
