I've got a question. Is my 3060 enough for AI?
Image gen to be exact.

Just keep the image size relatively low, which can be a pain for quality any what gets rendered. It's certainly enough to get started and learn things. Don't expect amazing results day one. I'm still working on getting amazing results a few months in, but they're much better now.

Yes, you should at least be able to do SDXL with forge, probably not flux models though. Forge's memory management has improved since I wrote that post so it should be ok.

I have not used Forge, I'm still using Automatic1111. I don't have information about which a newcomer should use.

Two and half hours into my day and have almost hit all my target goals in steps, active time, and calories burned. Still have at least 7 more hours left in my day

EDIT: wait, why is this thread in P4?

It would seem that most things AI related are only in P4 threads. That's why I have still not entered any of Mime's competitions as tempting as the prize of winning an instant P4 level upgrade might be.
It has given me something to look forward to anyway. probably be around Christmas time before I finally upgrade.
In the meantime I'll carry on grinding......

I'm using 3060 to get my images. And I can tell that it is fine as long as you are patient and nothing on your schedule and that you are young enough to spend the rest of your life to wait it's dream.

I'm not sure about 3D software but I think learning to draw is more difficult.
In a former life I was a Fine Artist and specialised in realism.
There are a lot of 'artists' out there and to do well in that particular style you have to be very very good.
Not one to blow my own trumpet (!) but I was/am very good and I still don't believe its something anyone can learn without some natural ability to start with.
Happy to post some of my work on here but don't want to bore you. (There's nothing lewd or nude!!)
