I seriously haven't been to a movie theatre in years. I think was a Star Wars, first one with that Daisy Riddley, She hot
Movies have become a bit lame, Woke and freaking expensive. More and More Actors and Hollywood telling me who to vote for and what to think. Really, I work everyday and I'm freaking broke, F-ing elites telling me how it is. Sorry for the rant. In general movies need to go back to making people laugh, cry or what ever.

With the biggest respect: I'll play Devil's advocate.

Messaging has always been there. It's just that the current message isn't for us.
50s TV shows = Family is the most important thing.
70s movies = Government and authority sucks.
Heck, I took Grand Theft Auto's message to be "Wouldn't it be cool if you could be a criminal and the cops couldn't do anything?"

It's also why parents hated DnD, video games, etc... They gave the "wrong" message.

Now, is today's message more overt? Yeah. I'll give you that. But there's always been a message.
And there's always been those that love the message, and those that hate it, and those in the middle.

But, to leave it on the friendliest of notes (since tone doesn't make it through in the internet):
I actually don't like many of the current messages either (on BOTH sides of the discussion).
It's why I either retro game or pen and paper. I barely watch TV shows or movies...

I'm amazed at movies still making over a billion dollars in US theaters. That said theaters have shifted to trying to become premium experiences, so they usually have seats that are pretty comfy now if you don't mind paying the premium. I still dislike the overall experience but to each their own.

Even if it was something great, I don't think I'd ever see a movie in the theater again.

And that's even if had the cash to burn.

It seems unlikely that the projectionist would pause the 2 hour movie 3 times for my old man piss breaks... just sayin'...

Is there a way to disable the "Messages have been posted since you loaded this page. View them?" pop up?

Thank you. I looked and it's not there (unless I'm just missing it).

To be clear, it's not something that shows up on the bell on the top of the page.

It's a line of dialogue that appears on the bottom of the page below the last post.
It then shifts the screen down 1 line when it pops up... which is a pain when formatting.
A small pain. An annoyance. Sure. But still a pain. Especially during the multi-quote part of my day's posting. Just a ME problem. Nothing big, to be sure.
