I think besides elementary schools, the uniform is just the top piece. At least I never had any pants as uniform after entering middle school.
I do think some scholl prohibit skirts, and all boys and girls must wears shorts/pants, but I don't remember much anymore.
Hairstyles I don't think it ever having problems in my time. I knew people that had like pink and purple hair and going to school normally.
And yeah, bullying sucks and it's a shame many places don't do anything to avoid that. This year a kid was killed after getting spanked by his bully, after MONTHS of informing the administration about the bullying, which said administration just told the boys to resolve it themselves. Like, what???

Why don't they allow skirts in some schools there?
Yeah, still in most Japanese schools the students are not allowed to wear any colour in their hair, just natural, so our school are much more strict and not so relax like USA and SOuth America schools.
Yesah, its disgusting about bully. I had a very decent friend who tried end her life in junior High school because she was very quiet and different. I was very upset and went to the school headmaster and told him this was not good. he did take huge actiion and the girl parent was angry. Lucky in her case she was save from more harm, but its a problem that is too big and I wish more can be done for student who are in trouble by bully.
That is just trash that the administrator told the boys will resolve themselves. What if it get worse and worse? Seems the admin of the school are just useless... Same as here, some are fine but others do nothing really even when it is a crime to bully.

We do have imitations here, but it's not good quality. There probably is good ones somewhere, but at a higher price, but nonetheless it's more authentic if it's bought on there, isn't it?

Of course, don't buy the imitations. Its not the same. But the Japanese ones in Japan make of silk and hand make are also very expensive, but you will be on vacation, so, if you and your wife will like then buy one nice item and you can hang them on the wall of your home and they look amazing. All visitors will say "Wow!" You can also find them in thrift stores here and often those are cheap and nice quality.

All the "All-You-Can-Eat" restaurants I've been to have a pretty hefty upfront price. Like there's all you can eat steak for $50-60, or Korean BBQ for $70. Since it's all meat most people can't actually eat enough to eat more than the wholesale cost of the food. Or alternatively it's something like Sizzler where the buffet food is all cheap food.

There are tons of these restaurants where I live starting as cheep as $10, but the average is between 30-$60, depends on the quality of the food. Some of them even have children free. Only the adults will pay. As far as I know these kind of restaurants have been working here from forever. Even if some people may eat like tomorrow is going to be the zombie apocalypse, most of the consumers are not that desperate.
