Fully half of the discords I'm in are squad/sig/corp related discords for an MMO I play, so mostly for info and notificaton purposes, so not much actual chat. a few are personal chats, then one for a webserial I follow, one for a specific game mod, one for a musician fan discord and one for my sports team...so not a ton of randos wanting to communicate. Plus my account is almost always tagged 'do not disturb'

I see a lot of news that Japan's birth rate keeps declining, the majority of the population is elderly and they need outsiders to work in the industries, and yet they refuse to aknowledge the foreigners as citizens or something like that. Japan seems very "proud" of their country or whatever, sometimes they don't even like exporting their culture. Look ate K-Pop vs J-Pop for example, J-Pop is a lot older, and yet japanese companies tried their hardest for those outside Japan to not consume it, while korean companies took advantage of it, and now it's a global success (Even though I hate it, I have to admit it).

I mean, Tommy February 6 had some pretty good stuff- so did Hikaru Utada.

As soon as a Japanese artist becomes popular outside Japan, they try to exploit it. A clear recent example of this is Baby Metal success. They played a lot outside Japan.

I have an acquaintance that lived and worked in Japan for a year. He found that everyone was very polite to him until it was clear he was a resident rather than a tourist, so for example if he encountered Japanese residents in his apartment complex they tended to be more rude because he was a foreigner and obviously not a tourist. That said plenty of people were also just as polite to him even when they knew he lived there so it's not a universal thing.

It's kinda like that in Hawaii. White people are "haoles" (or the US equivalent of "honkies"), but after you've lived there for a few years and become a Kama'aina then the people become a lot nicer. Not sure how they can tell, but they just start treating you better. Also, it seems like IF you know just one Samoan really well- they have a weird telepathy that makes the rest of them like you too. Weird.

I tried to get into AEW, and I really like some of the wrestlers, but when it came out everyone acted like it was a house show and ignored the cameras, and I didn't care for it. I really like Omega overall, Orange Cassidy, Toni Storm and the Mariah story is great

I really believe just like WCW forced the attitude era, AEW brought out the competitive side (except for McMahon who had lost all touch with reality) of WWE. And yeah for the main show being 2 hours (which is a good amount of time) there is just too many stars. They became basically WCW or TNA lite, hiring ex WWE stars and not showcasing the people who got them to the dance.

Jericho was a fine addition when AEW started, and gave them great name recognition, but refuses to realize his time is up, just like the movie "The Wrestler."

The problem with Tony is he wants to be friends with his dream wrestling friends and not a boss. That was evident from the CM Punk shit. Punk should've been fired after that Hangman incident, but Tony was still fangirling too hard. You can't be a boss and a friend. Talent and employees won't respect you no matter how much money you have if you don't stand your ground. I can see it again still with Danielson, even if I like him.
