I will say, it has been difficult for me to stay engaged here. I'm more of a reactionary participant, playing off of others, and the easiest thing to react to was the visual content, most of which was AI. I'm trying to still be active, but it's hard when the thread doesn't hold my attention as well as it used to.

I feel this. At least right now I have backreading to entertain myself and let me pretend to have been part of the conversation but it's got to be rough for you. I know I get excited to see the notification hoping to actually be able to participate in real time only to come to a greeting of the day post which I tried to respond to a few times, and sometimes that sparked an actual discussion but more often just silence.

my problem with those posts is that they show the signs of our reality, people don't come here to hang out anymore, and the friends we made here are slowly leaving, it's getting harder and harder to just enjoy a good laugh without caring about coins, I never cared about coins, since the M+ was 30 coins and you could earn by people visiting your profile. I just really feel like the community we built here is really great, no kink shame, no random fights, nothing and I'd like to keep it growing

When you mention the good morning and good bye stuff, are you talking about the people that will just pop on say good morning then pop off and probably won't see again for the day? Because every morning when I come on my first post is always a good morning. But I also engage in other conversations as well. I'm not here to get coins. The only reason why I was, was just so I could keep talking to all of you. Yes you created this thread after shit hit the fan. But who was to say you guys wouldn't have gone back to the og after things calmed down. I had only started engaging a few weeks before the SS and thought I had gotten to know some people well and was enjoying my time talking to people. So I didn't want to miss out on the friendships I was starting.

When you mention the good morning and good bye stuff, are you talking about the people that will just pop on say good morning then pop off and probably won't see again for the day?

I'm talking about situations like this: person A doesn't care about the conversation, doesn't read anything, just comes and drops a 'good morning' without any context or reply to someone, then person B replies to person A with another 'good morning', without any conversation or context. How am I supposed to respond to that? With another useless post? usually when you're just passing by, you drop a 'good morning' with some replies to quotes from when you were offline or some new topic about your day, IDK, something to keep the conversation going and allowing other people to reply to you too, that's what I miss, I never post (unless staff-related) I always just reply to posts :/

I've only really used Discord as a fancy Ventrillo for voice comms. I guess I'm not that into the format it uses for text channels.

There are Native American tribes that refuse to share many stories and tradition with anyone who isn't devoted to the tribe. in the next breath, they complain about the erasure of their way of life and culture. You see documentaries where civilization/modernization has crept into a lot of these cultures and the younger people just have no interest in their ancestry. I'm more sad for those people losing that part of themselves. Personally...

Just FYI, the "Man on the Street" style of interviews and stuff like that really does go for lowest common denominator.
I'm not saying people aren't stupid, they are, but it's not everyone.
They have to film a LOT of people to find the truly stupid (or dumb and funny). Sometimes they film for multiple days to get good footage. Ever notice how the segment will almost always have one person that appears multiple times? The people who get the questions right aren't funny!
Another example is those food reality shows: Food Paradise, Bizarre Foods, Diner's Drive-Ins with Guy Fieri, etc. They film little 5-10 minutes spots about one food or diner or restaurant. Each little 10 minutes takes them 4-8 hours to film.

You're not wrong there, it's just astounding that people don't have just basic common knowledge- shit you learn in, let's say, 3rd to 8th grade. I do realize they "cherry-pick" idiots, and they might go days or weeks without finding a "star", it's just a shame that those "stars" exist.
