Yeah, well, tbh, I am not versed enough to know if his style and skills were good or bad or what was common in the 30s and 40s when he wrote them. I read them in 2006/07 I think and just thought that his writing was really lacking and not engaging *shrug*
Doesn't subtract from the fact the world building and all is great and that LotR is a fantasy classic of course

Yeah, his style of writing is absolutely not for everyone. And much of the fantasy world we enjoy today can trace roots to his works. I've got plenty of his writing, including his linguistic works here. Some in modern times forget that Tolkien was a linguist before becoming a novelist. He made some great contributions to both fields.

Burn me on the stake if you want... but taken as a single Movie I think "Rogue One" is the best Star Wars movie aside from "The Empire strikes back"...

I will not at all. I consider Rogue One and The Empire Strikes Back to be by far the standout movies in the series. And Andor is the standout among the live-action shows.

There are certainly good parts in the others. I love the original movie, but R1 is clearly the best standalone and TESB is clearly the best of the numbered 9.

Well, I do really like Ewan McGregor and his Obi-Wan, so I will probably enjoy Obi-Wan Kenobi, even if it is mediocre

Yes, he's surprisingly good at taking on a near impossible role of playing the younger Sir Alec Guinness! The TV show is bad in that it harms the story as a whole.

(I also like Ahsoka, the character, but I am a bit hesitant about the "grown up live action" versions looks, still, gotta watch it and probably enjoy it as long as it is at least average)

Yep, she's an amazing character. Sadly, again, this series harms the overall Star Wars story as well.

Both of these two feel like someone said, "Hey make a story about these characters, and make it looks cool."

Yeah, Acolyte and Book of Boba Fett I didnt hear anything good about either But I am looking forward to Andor too. I am activating my Disney+ after I am trough with SG Atlantis, which I am looking right now, to catch up on my Disney Stuff I wanna watch, not sure if I even try Boba Fett and Acolyte, but probably, if I find them shit too I can still stop

The Boba Fett series looks cool. They did some fun stuff. I'd steer all the way clear of Acolyte, but that's your choice.

Yeah, I'm not sure I understand what that means...

There are a few ways to change an image in ways that aren't part of "animating". You can either limite the number of frames it exists for or you can tell it to "hide" using a button. The trick with the button is that you can't easily get it back once hidden. Example, if I want an image to appear on frame 1-3 and 7-8. I have to give it positions for all of those frames and I don't give it any position data for 4-6. Then, on frame 4, I tell it to hide. Then it will be hidden until the position data on frame 7 brings it back.

My friends and I enjoyed Haunting at Baldur's Gate when we played it, shame it's hard to get together as adults.

Do you have Divinity OS2? There are always rooms to play multiplayer, not exactly with your friends, but sometimes it's fun to play with a stranger

yeah we had more heat than is now also, atm is round 34 day / 20.24 night, enough that nothing cool down. humidity reaches over 90% here, so that doesn't help also (those are the night stats for past few days) 40% day/ 80-90% night. so yeah fun
