I have seen Ahsoka. And to me, it has the same problem as the newest Bad Boys, the newest Beverly Hills Cop, etc...

They take youthful, crazy, fun characters, age them up, and continue their story.
In the examples above, the characters have now "adulted", are less reckless, less crazy, ergo (for some) less fun. It doesn't feel like them anymore.
OR in other franchises (no examples atm), they STAY reckless, crazy, fun, etc... but it comes out as mid-life crisis / stupid esp. with obvious stunt doubles.

IMO either recast, or do new stories in the same setting with new characters (Ex: Rocky -> Creed franchise).
or... (ducking my head)... reboot.
They made Thrawn a clown....even Rebels already made him a bit of that but in Ashoka he is just a clown.

On the first half I agree with you, there is a lot of stupid people out there, however don't you think that if they had used some black popular actors to make the live action of the princess and the frog, the movie would have been well received by the demographic they were trying to appeal to and still earn money?, even so I admit that I'm a little biased as I liked the movie and would have watched the live action.

And on the seconf half its not about if she is white or black, is about the fact that the character has originally designed to be in a certain way, taking into consideration the time, place and context of the era on which the original book was written, and to change it to just please a certain group and not even trying to add something to the overal story just doesn't sit well with me.
Honestly, I think the Ariel outcry about her being played by a black actress was mostly just plain racism... ariels "race" or color was never really part of the character... she is a damn mermaid... that is not like letting a black man play Napoleon or something. The movie was shit, but that is a completly different matter :D (And personal taste, considering the high audience score it has on rotten tomatoes). Now, I say mostly, because it was indeed a kinda weird decision (and why not change it up properly if you already started to change things) and I am sure there are people that really just thought about it in the way you describe, which is fair enough, I mean, those people would find an all white cast for a live action Moana movie shit too.
But lets face it, a biiiiig amount of those that complained about Ariel would not complain about the mirrored thing happening in a live action Moana... it is fine to call out racist shit, even if it coincidentally overlaps with reasonable complaints of non-racists :D

He's a bad guy... in 21st century storytelling.

They "have to" make him a clown... otherwise someone might... I dunno... create a Galactic Empire right here on Earth or some shit.
At least that's how they behave.

I HATE IT. Let me be clear. But I've (sort of) made peace that most entertainment will fuck over villains in any story to appease the puritanicals.

I can't wait to see how the Rings of Power fuck up Sauron and Marvel will fuck up Doom, RDJ or no.

Never understood the appeal of lego version games they always appeared inferior to the orignal games. But perhaps I must have missed out on the coop experience.

I don't live for them, but I get a little enjoyment out of them. I'll occasionally grab one on sale for like $3 and play it for an afternoon, then never play it again.
That said, I liked the Marvel Heroes ones, simply because flying around the city as Iron Man was cool.

If they have to make a new star wars movie surely the early days of vader post episode III would be a safe bet. Surely not even Disney could mess that up...could they?

Obi-Wan, the TV Show, kind of deals with Early Vader and he is easily the best part of the series.

I'm a huge believer that almost anything can be a good story, it's just about who tells it.
Showing an aged up character CAN be interesting - but only if it's written well.
New stories in the same setting CAN be interesting - but only if it's written well.
Reboots CAN be interesting - but only if it's written well.

Stories are fiction. EVERYTHING has potential to be good. But not EVERYONE can write a good story. You could take the most bland thing in the world, a story about an old vacuum cleaner left in a basement, and that COULD become a masterpiece with the right writer...

That said, I think there is more to this than simple writing. It's Studio Decisions more than anything. A good writer will pick the characters for their story. Whereas the Studio picks the Characters/Franchise first and tells the writer what they want. Not to mention when they hire bad writers who don't care about the property.

To be honest, I stoped liking it that much after they started talking. Their mimics and exaggerated body language were a lot better in my opinion.
Buy yeah, I loved the multiplayer! It's sad there aren't many co-op games.

Yeh they lost some charm when they started talking. But I think some of the later ones have been funny again. Either that, or I just laugh a bit too easily.

I don't have any PlayStation... But at least every thursday I get my free game on Epic. Hahaha

Ahhh I never got Epic. I don't support their business practices. Strange hill for me to die on, I know, considering I'm talking on a forum where the games are not always legally obtained. But still..

So I read the LOTR books when I was around 13 since she had them. I enjoyed them. I stopped reading for years.

I just really wanted to use this gif. Love the rebrand you did.
I was in JROTC at the same time :S

Dude, it's a noble thing and all, but trust me after a bit- it's just too much. I tried to do that with the 7K thread and I got to page 200 before tapping out. I started just picking random numbers and would do 10-15 pages that way. All in all- I think I did about 400-500 pages total back-reading. :ROFLMAO:
I'mma keep going, but not doing 100+ pages in a day again that was too much. Today I'll try @bonk 's suggestion of the muti-tab and alternate between the old and new. We'll see how that goes

Just need cookie cutter villains no to humanized sympathetic villains

Burn me on the stake if you want... but taken as a single Movie I think "Rogue One" is the best Star Wars movie aside from "The Empire strikes back"...

j/k It's like Matthiacallus said, you kinda knew how it was going to end (especially if you've seen a "A New Hope".
I mean Alan Tudyk was in it, so that helped. He kills in everything.
AND it was one of the few where everybody dies- which is rare for a Star Wars flick...
Memory's a tad fuzzy (it's late) that's also the one where Lord Vader just bad-asses his way through the Rebel Ship, right?
IF I had to say anything nice about it- it wasn't 7, 8, or 9. :ROFLMAO:
I can respect your assessment.
Maybe conzi is his dentist?
God, help him... :ROFLMAO:
That's just stupid. It's a bad and lazy argument.
A large portion of Black Panther is Wakanda and it's African culture.
If you had a Hispanic super-hero living in a South American hidden society, they would have all different aesthetic and cultural motifs.
Same with Asian, or Australian, or Eskimo for that matter.
Interestingly enough- there's going to be an animated DC cartoon where Batman is in Incan/Aztec times and I believe they're using Spanish speaking (possibly even South American) voice actors for it...
Batman might even be a woman... I just glossed over the article gif hunting. :ROFLMAO:
I can't do that, I wouldn't be able to stop thinking about the sad dog/cow thing in his avatar.
I thought it was a pig that he had to give a "nipple-ectomy"? :p
That's way out of my time there. I've heard of it, but never seen any of it.
You really should give the "Amazing World of Gumball" a chance. It's a lot more entertaining that I think even kids realize... :ROFLMAO:
I didn't mind Rogue One. I went in blind, only knowing the trailers.
I'm not going to say it was as good as the main Star Wars movies, but I thought it was good.
Like I said, I didn't like the ending, even though I knew it would happen, I still didn't like it. Made the movie seem like a waste of time.
Read above- I don't wanna type all that shit again... :ROFLMAO:

Yep, the prince's mom is a black lady, too. I watched it with a girl friend of mine. (not girlfriend, friend that is a girl)
I didn't see the Beauty & best live action. I didn't really remember caring about the original animated version, either.
Oh, I see- I thought you meant Javier Bardem was her IRL dad... It's just in the movie? Still not gonna see it. Live-action is such a let down and I have my treasured memories of the original (plus the "willie" VHS cover"). :ROFLMAO:
I hope you got my surprise!

We had a second line at home just for the dial-up. My brother and I paid for it with after school jobs. It still disconnected ALL THE TIME
IT would still fuck-up even after the phone company gave you, what, *70 prefix or whatever to "block" your line? It took years for that shit to finally work... :ROFLMAO:
You did miss the memo.
"All media should now pertain to my interests and mine alone."
Well, shit I would've signed the petition IF I thought I could get my way in each and every instance of life...
These are those "participation trophy" motherfuckers from THAT generation- aren't they? Coddled and catered to so they're widdle feewings didn't get huwt?
I did it today and got confused. I kept reading the wrong page when I was replying.
Need practice

Yes, the infamous scene that the lady said Brando actually assaulted her.
Yeah, I remember reading that, but I guess it didn't go any where or they settled out of court?
Take the butter, or it's going in dry
Are you stealing Conzi's Mating Call? :ROFLMAO:
Butter on chocolate chip cookies?
IF YOU BUTTER YOUR COOKIES, YOU MIGHT BE FAT

Goodnight everybody!
Didn't you allude to being a fat bastard? Don't knock it until you've tried it. Kerry Gold is the secret- even on a Chip's Ahoy... ;)

They made an extended feature, on Disney+ about two halloweens ago. Can watch it in Black and White or it rereleased in Colour.
DT definitely did kill it as Kilgrave! But, I was only really talking about the variety that Disney has given with Marvel, rather than the Netflix shows.
No shit? Is it animated or is it live-action? I didn't even see that when Feige was talking about what? Phase 82? :ROFLMAO:
Jessica Jones is an underrated show. Tennant killed it. Almost as awesome as Crowley in "Good Omens".
Yeah things going fine, how about my favorite Other SD? :p
Good Morning OG SD!
How are you doing just as I'm about to call it a day- in a bit...

I use photoshop to make my gifs, that's why the movement sometimes are a little janky.
I haven't found an autotracker for that yet, so all the ones I do, I myself track around. :p
Well, that's just cheating.
HOW am I supposed to ask you for help? :p
Who would be the resident expert on this crap? :ROFLMAO:
I like this, when names have a meaning, mine don't, just something I slummed together when the coins were implemented... :p
I was wondering about that- if it had any particular etymology... :ROFLMAO:

Just look at this way it.... it might be illegal but if you have a good justice system in your country tell the rights holder to bring it on....
Even then I doubt Adult games IP holders can do much here in my country the Philippines since their games itself might actually be against some old laws...
We still have laws on the books about it and porn is technically a big black market here....so AVN makers might be in a bigger trouble if they go after a measly pirate like me...
But then again porn is not even legally defined here.. but it might fall under old laws and qualify as obscene publications haha

No shit? Is it animated or is it live-action?

Live-Action! Manthing is there too:

man-thing-werewolf-by-night.gif

And Elisa Bloodstone, though I'm less a fan of her casting...

We can definitely agree on this!
Tennant kills everything he is in. He's fantastic through and through.

I remember reading the books and the 3 old cartoons from back in the day. One and three were that same animation studio, but the 2nd was Ralph Bakshi.
I watched one of them in the cinema! I remember it was weird with drawing over real footage or something like that.
IF you've ever seen the "Amazing World of Gumball" episode with the RPG- he names his character "MyButt". It might not be good for a porn game, BUT it would still be funny.
I'm afraid I don't even know the show! (Of course I googled it, but still I never heard of that cartoon). If some of my RPG players ever used that name, I would have kicked him in the butt out off party!!

I'll opine here too. If you don't like Tolkien's style (I do, but everyone is different and that's a wonderful thing :) ) I would skip the extended trilogy in favor of the 1977 cartoon. The cartoon is somehow less confusing and in some way more mature than the Hobbit trilogy, I believe. And if you want something different, there's a bunch of audio dramatizations done by the BBC and others that I think you can still find for free on youtube.
Wow. Someone else who appreciates the cartoons. The soundtrack was killer too "Where There's a Whip", "Towers of the Teeth", Frodo of the 9 Fingers (and the Ring of Doom), and "Roads Go Ever, Ever On".
It may not have covered everything, but for the time- it did a really good job.
What was your honest opinion of the Bakshi one?
I wanna be stuffed then mailed to a random politician.
Why not just be mailed to the politician?
He's gonna stuff you anyway.
He fucked you in life- death isn't going to stop him. :ROFLMAO:
My most excellent Flaming1, in that case, I hereby bequeath to you my 1898 Volume of the Art of Taxidermy. May it serve you well in all your stuffing endeavors.... except for those stuffing endeavors that involve stuffing penises into various orifices. For those endeavors, please message me for my lightly used copy of the Kama Sutra.
I DL'd this and I'm gonna be pissed if it isn't the 1898 Art of Taxidermy... :ROFLMAO:
Hold up, everybody!

j/k WB, mate. :p
Have any of you had an artist that awoke a new kink in you?

In my case its the artist elasid with his Lamia and other Monster Girls (seems to be mostly about Monster musume)

But what really did it are the animations he made like this one (also its 60fps)

The full version (also better quality) and some of his other animations can be found here:

Here is his official rule34video page which contains a couple more but all of them are cut (uncut is for patreon/subscribestar, or found above in the sankaku link):
I do love me some Lamia. There's a game on here you might be interested in (if you haven't already played it) with a Lamia mother and her lol daughter... I won't link it just in case we're not supposed to...
OMG! I LOVE MST3K! :ROFLMAO:

mime uses all the things to make gifs, so I would assume he would know a thing or two.
Bonki at this point seems to have a lot of hours making gifs on gifmeme.

NO SHIT. He kinda looks like a moldy Mr. Snuffleupagus. :ROFLMAO: "Whoever knows fear burns at the touch of the Man-Thing" or "Hello Bird."
So it has him and "Werewolf by Night" (is he J. Jonah Jameson's kid in this?). Who else in it? Moon Knight or anybody?
Who is playing Elisa Bloodstone?
Did you ever see "Cloak and Dagger" and "Runaways"?

There's just a quality that Tennant has that not a lot of other actors possess. I'm sure he was classically trained, but he just seems to nail every part he plays- even in the remake of "Fright Night".
I know he's done Shakespeare because someone who was a part of a theatre died and they're last request was to be made into the skull prop for the "Alas, poor Yorick" monologue in Hamlet- and Tennant actually held the skull during the performance.

I do love me some Lamia. There's a game on here you might be interested in (if you haven't already played it) with a Lamia mother and her lol daughter...
You can at least give us the name of the game :)

Lamia are a classic in monster girl harems. (From Musume Monster no Oisha-san and Monster Musume, similar names, different anime).
