Yeah. RE4, despite having way more action and less survival elements, still had that omnious vibe. RE5 and RE6 were just shoot, shoot, shoot.
RE7 and RE8 brought back the horror, but I don't know, it doesn't feel like RE at all to me, and Ethan is indeed boring. Hahaha
One thing I never undesrtood is why they remade RE4 instead of RECV. Code Veronica was the next game after RE3, and RE4 already had the modern gameplay.
I always thought they would eventually bring back Rebecca, I found her very cute, but she was forgotten, aside from that movie (which I think isn't even good).
Another thing that I figured they would do, but they didn't, is a game set in Europe, which canonically had Umbrella facilities, which Chris visited during RE2 and RE3.

Yeah i thought they would remake code veronica too first resident evil 4 in my opinion didn't need the remake but if anything they should have done code veronica first know they are talking about maybe resident evil 5 and 6 remake really those games don't really need remakes plus 6 was very badly received.
Yeah that's something i hate too we haven't heard from any of the other original resident evil characters except chris since resident evil 6 and 9 appears that is probably gonna be a new protagonitst it's a shame they don't do other games maybe spin-offs maybe bring them back with other original characters.

I think it was said they got the IP address because it was in the complaint or something, I presume they would have banned that.

Sure, but what else can be done? That's the idea of the Prestige levels I think is to at least make it take some time to build back up.
