I don't mind playing silent, most of the games with sound, does sound cringe, with a few exceptions.

A game that for me needs sound in the sex scene is My New Neighbors, at least as far as I play it, it doesn't have sound.

Just for the vote count that is not polled, I find the sex sounds are enjoyable in games (I use headphones myself) or I mute the game when needed.

I play most games on mute anyway, so this is a non issue for me. If I do have sound on normally the music kills it for me, but I can see where some people may want a little moaning when the MC is balls deep in someone

And thank God. Virtually all the voiceovers I've encountered are extremely amateurish, and hiring professional voice actors is not allowed by the modest incomes of porn game developers.

Like many, I mute the sex sounds. I turn the music, if any, WAY the fuck down (most new games / updates blast my ears on startup).

Even if I felt the need for sex sounds, most "professional" ones from video porn sites turn me right off. Amateur ones from a game would drive me back to muting it.

Worst personal example: Motherless [Mr.Mister] does sex sounds, ambient sounds, exclamations, and it all sounds like the dev doing it themselves.
If it was a hired "professional", Mr.Mister should get their money back.

Nothing is worse than playing your game in an environment that requires discretion and then hearing a wailing moan or constant chirping birds. That combined with your constant mouse clicks to skip dialog and trying to "do the business" makes it rough to promote sound in games

I feel its hard to find a good sound that will match what you are seeing. I always just end up turning them off in the end.

Hear me out. This is a real thing. If a dev needs noises to use for sex scenes, use melons and other fruits to mimic the sounds of sex it works surprisingly well. Real porn directors and hentai devs have even used the fruit method.
Most games devs use random sounds to make cool shit. Like the Subnatica game devs dropped a glass bottle into the recycling bin and remixed it into those giant whale sounds.

There's only like 6 sex sounds on the whole of the internet that isn't from an hentai, or doesn't have background music or someone else speaking/moaning during them.
So, yeah. Finding the few 'public' sex sounds, or paying someone on Fiver to record their sounds, is just too much effort for a lot of people.
Also, programming audio to sync with animations is a ballache, and adding sounds to animations bloat their size which a lot.

Basically, a lot of work for not a lot of payoff.

I've played many games and some do wonders with the sounds and it works, but a lot of them don't and sound silly, for example, one game I was playing (I won't 'name and shame') where when fellatio was occurring the sounds accompanying it sounded like someone drinking a milkshake through a straw and they were nearing the bottom of the cup, the sound was heavily over exaggerated and sounded silly, another game had sounds from live porn that was completely out of time to the action on the screen and it ended up being both annoying to listen to and very comical.

This isn't even true from all I've seen. A lot use them.
