I find gifs and memes are a good middle ground for communication for those less socially inclined. It's like a cheat sheet for talking

I'm a little hung up on the word "meaningful." A lot of the games I actually like have threads where the last comment was posted so long ago that I would feel like a bit of a Necromancer if I posted in them, and I know in the internet more broadly thread necromancy is usually frowned on.

that's what i do on discord some times xD, once talked a whole day in guild chat with nothing buy gifs xD

How does the time online work? I've been a member for 1.5 years, usually leave the page open, and only have five and half hours.

The time online is you actively reading post and going to other pages type thing.
A bit more then just leaving the browser tab open.
