Whenever there are scenes with sexual content, the developer initially puts stuff on those to censor them temporarily. Then, after a couple of weeks typically, a de-nag patch is releases, so there's no more nagging about buying the game to see the scene. Instead, the scene becomes available without that extra stuff. I have no idea why the patch isn't here anymore, though. I do know that if a release has no additional lewd content, it doesn't require a de-nag patch. I assume that's why there isn't one currently; there hasn't been additional lewd content for several releases now.

Well, the MC is a soon-to-be Father (priest) in the Catholic church, so it's actually pretty accurate. I get that you both seem to have made assumptions, but I don't see how it's misleading at all. I don't see how your inferring something that wasn't intended constitutes developer deceit.

Also, given your confusion, I can only assume you haven't played the main game (A Father's Sins) yet. Playing this first is probably not the best route to take. The original is the actual story; this is more "what if" stuff and wouldn't make a lot of sense without having played the main game.

I guess I just see too much whining about "evil devs" and their screwing people over — which is fair criticism to a point — so I misread it as serious. (Ironic, since the joke is about misreading a game title. ?) I was like, "I understand a lot of folks love incest, but the big picture of the priest as the banner doesn't tip anyone off at all? All right."

You don't really need to play the other game. The brief references to it are because this game is supposedly alternate possible futures to what happens in that one. So since this is alternate, the other game doesn't really matter for this one. The dev uses a marketing strategy: release the game in a censored form initially on sites like this one, and then after a couple of weeks release a patch to remove censoring. So if you want to wait a couple of weeks, the version here that's censored right now will be uncensored, and you can see everything at that point.

Yeah, IIRC the patch replaces censored renders / animations with uncensored ones. So when a new version drops here and is censored, you'll have temporarily reverted back to that. So maybe wait until the patch for each new version drops, rather than getting the initial download right away. If you do that, I don't think you'll ever see a censored version. But I've only helped out from time to time with proofreading; I don't know his specific plans for the game or w/e. So what I just said is assumption based on observation, not actual foreknowledge.
