He went back to working on a Burned update and took a break from Malignant so he doesn't turn himself into a serial killer. I'd guess he'll go back to working on Malignant 0.3 after a Burned update is out so it will be awhile for this one (guessing maybe 6 months, best to get some ice for those balls).

Go by visuals. I set the daughetr to 13, since that's what she looks like to me and she has pussy hair (well, stubble) which younger than that tend to not have (unless they are an early bloomer or something). Everyone else's ages are based on hers and still make sense at 13. 12 is maybe pushing it, I'd have to replay it again to be sure.

Agree with 13 as well, otherwise the youngest get too young where things dont make sense anymore imo. She also looks the age so I'd say its canon.

I prefer Burned over this one anyway so far. I was a bit afraid that he abandoned at least 1 of the 2 because of lack of updates on both. Shame to hear the lack of updates is because of mental health, I hope he recovers soon.

Bruh the dev wanted take a week or two to play Starfield since he hadn't had the time while working on the update for Malignant. He has been working on the update for Burned for a while now. He keeps getting sidetracked making easter eggs and other things. I posted a couple preview picks from the dev's Discord in the Burned thread here two weeks ago. Going to post the most recent Burned preview pick in a min.
